Base Class: Fighter
Centurions are the embodiment of martial defense on the battlefield. They safeguard not only themselves but also the brothers and sisters in arms by their side. Whether in close confines of an underground dungeon, the maze of city streets, the chaos of an open battlefield the Centurion will see their allies through to victory.
Form Shield Wall
Starting at level 3, while this character is wielding a shield it can provide half-cover to an ally with 5 feet of it. If that ally is also wielding a shield it to can provide half-cover to another ally within 5 feet of it, as long as that ally is not the creature providing it with half-cover. This process can be repeated continuously as long as each additional ally is wielding a shield within 5 feet of the next, and it can include the Centurion who began the Shield Wall as long as the Centurion is not receiving half-cover from the ally to which it is providing half-cover to.
Back to Back Fighting
Starting at level 7, As a bonus action select an ally within 5 feet of you. Until the beginning of your next turn while you and the selected ally remain within 5 feet of each other neither of you can be the target of Sneak Attacks, Pack Tactics, or Flanking from enemies that you can see.
You can choose an additional ally starting at level 10 and two additional allies at level 15.
Turtle Formation
Starting at level 10, if you are within 5 feet of at least 3 other allies wielding shields that you are forming a Shield Wall with you, you gain three-quarters cover. Any ally that is part of your Shield Wall, that is also standing within 5 feet of at least 3 other allies wielding shields that part of the Shield Wall with you, will gain three-quarters cover as well.
Form Spear Wall
Starting at level 15, while wielding either a spear, javelin, pike, halberd, or glaive, you can use a bonus action to give yourself a special reaction that you can take once on every creature’s turn, except your turn. You can use this special reaction only to make an opportunity attack against that creature when it moves within reach of your weapon, and you can’t use it on the same turn that you take your normal reaction. If you hit the creature with this opportunity attack, the target’s speed is reduced to 0 until the end of the current turn. You can use this bonus action only if you haven’t moved during this turn, and after you use the bonus action, your speed is 0 until the end of the current turn.
Formation Maneuvers
Starting at level 18, as a bonus action you can direct every member of your shield wall to move up to 15 feet in the same direction. If any of the allies in your Shield Wall move within reach of an enemy creature they may use their reaction to make an opportunity against that creature.
If Formation Maneuver forces a member of the Shield Wall to move into a space occupied by an enemy creature one size larger than it or smaller, then that member must make a contested athletics check against the enemy creature's athletics check. If that member wins the athletics check then the enemy creature and any enemy creatures behind it, that are of equal or smaller size to that member, are pushed back a number of feet equal to remainder of feet left in the formation movement. If member has another ally moving behind them in formation then the athletics check is made with advantage. If two members are making an athletics check against the same opposing creature they can combine both of their athletics checks against that creature's one athletics check. If the member fails the athletic check against an enemy creature then its movement and those of any ally behind it stops. If an enemy creature being pushed meets an immovable object or another creature of a size larger than the member that won the athletics check then their movement and those of any creature behind them stops.
