Base Class: Sorcerer
You have been scarred or otherwise touched by death or one of her many reapers. This lingering experience, which could have happened recently or to an ancestor generations past, has left you in touch with the thin veil between life and death, allowing you to manipulate necromantic energies.
Such individuals are highly sought after by dark cultists to join their cause, and righteous wizards and paladins who feel such individuals are abominations on the material plane.
Necromantic Magic
Your link to the necromantic energies allows you to learn spells from the Necromancy school. When your Spellcasting feature lets you learn or replace a sorcerer cantrip or a sorcerer spell of First Level or higher, you can choose the new spell from any Necromancy spell of equivalent level or from the Sorcerer spell list. You must otherwise obey all the restrictions for selecting the spell, and it becomes a sorcerer spell for you.
Already Danced With Death
At First Level, your brush with death has hardened your resolve. You have advantage on death saving throws. Additionally, when you are brought to 0 hit points, but not killed outright, you can make a Constitution saving throw (DC = 10 or half damage dealt, whichever is higher), on a failure you fall unconscious, on a success you fall to 1 hit point instead. Once you use this feature you cannot use it again until after a long rest.
The Dead Walk With Me
At Sixth Level, once a day you can spend 6 sorcery points to cast an alternate version of the Animate Dead spell at Third Level. This animated dead is under your control permanently unless it is destroyed or you use an action to dismiss it, allowing the body to rest. The spell does not need to be recast every 24 hours per the normal Animate Dead spell. If you spend an additional 3 sorcery points, you can simultaneously animate an additional undead servant in this manner. The limit to number of undead servants you can have through this feature is equal to your Charisma modifier.
Additionally, these undead servants are magically tougher and deadlier than typical undead creatures. As you are controlling these creatures, they use your spell attack bonus for their attack rolls, and deal extra damage in the form of necrotic damage equal to your Charisma modifier.
Additionally, if any of your undead servants are under the effect of Turn Undead, you can spend an action reasserting your dominance over them, removing the effect.
Shadow's Reach
At Fourteenth Level, when you or one of your undead servants are hit with a melee attack, you can use your reaction to deal necrotic damage to the attacker. The damage equals you sorcerer level. The attacker must also make a Wisdom saving throw against your sorcerer spell save DC. On a failed save, the attacker is frightened of you and your undead servants.
Necrotic Presence
Beginning at Eighteenth Level, you can channel the dread of imminent death into those around you and your undead servants. As an action, you can spend 5 sorcery points to draw on this power and exude an aura of fear to a distance of 15 feet from you and each of your minions. For 1 minute or until you lose your concentration (as if you were casting a concentration spell), each hostile creature that starts its turn in this aura must succeed on a Wisdom saving throw or be frightened of you and your undead minions until the aura ends. A creature that succeeds on this saving throw is immune to your aura for 24 hours.
