Fighter
Base Class: Fighter

The Planar Walker is a Fighter that hails from or has been bonded to, the chaos of the realms and their many different realities. Some would say a Planar Walker is blessed, some would say cursed, but it is true that any of those finding themselves on this path will find themselves teetering out-of-balance and strung between realities. However, with time, they may just learn how to brand themselves and bathe in the chaos.

as found in Sights & Sounds - The Wildous

Planar Armory

When you take this Martial Archetype at 3rd-level you bond yourself with the many realms and realities of existence, those bonded find themselves bubbling with the chaos of the trans-dimensional, and learn to fuel this power into everything they do.

As a Planar Walker, you use Wisdom as your modifier when attacking with weapons you are proficient with.

* Note: DnDBeyond provides no native way to use Wisdom as a natural modifier, be sure to make roll calculations yourself

Planar Bonds

When taking this Martial Archetype at 3rd-level, you gain access to a list of Planar Bonds (found at the end of this subclass description).
These Bonds work as “shapes” (similar to a Druid’s Wild Shape) that you take on to help strengthen your connection to the planes, gifting you powers of ranging versatility.

You may “bind” yourself to an Planar Bond as an action, while bonded you are subject to the effects of the bond you chose, you also remove the effects of any previous bond you had. You may change your Planar Bond a number of times per long rest equal to your proficiency modifier. When you take this subclass at level 3, you choose your first bond and are immediately bound to it.

Each Planar Bond comes with detriments as well as benefits. These benefits are referred to as Planar Boons, the detriments are referred to as Planar Burdens.
You gain additional bonds of choice at 7th and 15th-level.

* For Planar Bonds that has limited-use abilities, such as “Plane Manipulation” from Bond of the Controller, the limited “uses” of the ability do not replenish on changing Planar Bonds nor do they overlap with other Planar Bonds’ limited ability “uses”.
For example: Quinn is bound to Bond of the Controller, Quinn uses one of their two uses of “Plane Manipulation” per long rest. Quinn switches to Bond of the Fragments and back to Bond of the Controller  before they take a long rest, Quinn still has one use of “Plane Manipulation” remaining, and no more. I only add this note for clarity purposes.

Bond of Rifts and Gateways

Prerequisite: 7th level
Under this bond, you bind yourself to the gateways that entwine the planes, gaining the ability to exploit the portals between realities and use them as you wish, at the risk of being swallowed by them.

Planar Boon: Thinking with Portals
Once per turn, when you make an melee attack, you can attack at any distance equal to or less than your movement speed by spending that much movement speed.

For example: Quinn has 30 feet of movement, there is an target 20 feet away. Quinn spends 15 feet of movement to make a melee attack on that target. Quinn now has 15 feet of movement remaining, but has not moved from their starting position.

Planar Burden: Lost to the Rift
If you roll a Natural 1 for an attack roll, your weapon vanishes into a pocket dimension, it returns the next day at Dawn.

Bond of the Controller

Under this bond, you bind yourself to the very strings of reality of the realms, manipulating the plane as you need, but only if it sees you fit.

Planar Boon: Plane Manipulation
A number of times per long rest equal to your wisdom modifier, you can add half your proficiency modifier to any skill check you make.

Planar Burden: A Disturbance
Whenever you make a saving throw in response to an attack or damaging effect, you minus half your proficiency modifier from your roll.

Bond of the Fragments

Under this bond, you bind yourself to the shards of reality lost to the planes. Those fleeting moments, those pockets that do not make up the Planar Weave, and you use those fragments to empower yourself.

Planar Boon: Planar Shrapnel
When you deal damage with a non-magical attack, you can divide the damage (rounded up) among up to three enemies within 10 feet of you.

For example: I attack Monster A and deal 9 damage, Monster B is 10 feet away from me and Monster C is 5 feet away from me, I can half my attack (rounding up to 5) to deal 5 damage to Monster A and either Monster B or Monster C. I can also divide my attack by 3 to deal 3 damage to Monster A, B, and C.

Planar Burden: Shardic Backlash
Whenever you roll a Natural 20 on your attack roll, you take damage equal to your wisdom modifier per target you choose to damage with Planar Shrapnel.

Bond of the Phasal Realms

Prerequisite: 7th level
Under this bond, you bind yourself to the vast mists of the transitive planes of existence, giving you the power to weave and bend yourself at will, with the drawback of losing your haptic feeling.

Planar Boon: Hazal Form
A number of times per long rest equal to your proficiency modifier, you can impose disadvantage on any attack against you, or gain advantage on a Dexterity or Constitution saving throw.

Planar Burden: Phasal Swings
You cannot use weapons with the two-handed or heavy properties. You also cannot gain advantage on melee attack rolls.

Bond of the Steward

Prerequisite: 15th level
Under this bond, you bind yourself to the laws and order of the realms of reality, you become the steward of the realm you stand in, by infusing with the realm itself.

Planar Boon: Guardian
When you switch to this bond, you select a damage type, you and all allies within 30 feet of you gain resistance to that type and gain advantage on saving throws against spells.

Note: When Tethered to a target, that target does not pick a new damage type, they inherit  the type you selected, and you do not gain double advantage on saving throws.

Planar Burden: Giveth and Taketh
When you switch to this bond, you select a damage type, you and all allies within 30 feet of you gain weakness to that type.

Bond of the Wanderer

Prerequisite: 15th level
Under this bond, you bind yourself to the ever-changing chaos of the planes, and use it to further yourself, blending with it and ebbing with the flow.

Planar Boon: Wander
A number of times equal to your proficiency modifier per long rest, whenever you are attacked by a target within 120 feet of you, you may spend your reaction to teleport yourself to  that target and make an attack. You also gain the ability to cast Misty Step a number of times per day equal to your wisdom modifier.

Planar Burden: The Chaos Rebels
If you miss an attack when using 'Wander,' you can choose to either take the damage you would have dealt or deal that damage to your nearest ally of choice.

Planar Tether

At 10th-level with this subclass, you gain the ability to, as a bonus action, choose a target within 30 feet of yourself and Tether yourself to them. While the Tether is active, you gift the target with the ability to use the benefits of your Planar Bond. If either you or the target take damage while tethered, you split the damage in half amongst yourself and the tethered.

* Limited use abilities from Planar Bonds share their “uses”. This means if you use “Plane Manipulation”, your tethered target also loses a use of “Plane Manipulation”

A Tether works similarly to the concentration of a spell; whenever you take damage while a Tether is active: you must make a Wisdom Saving Throw with a DC of 10 or half the damage taken (whichever is higher), if you fail the save, the Tether is broken, and both you and your Tethered target take Psychic damage equal to your Fighter Class Level.

The Tether also breaks if you and your target are more than 60 feet apart or if you or your target fall unconscious, you do not take psychic damage in these cases. You may also dismiss your Tether using a bonus action.
