Rogue
Base Class: Rogue

You are a magical sponge. While you do not have an innate ability to cast spells yourself, you are able to borrow the magic of the spellcasters around you in order to mimic some spell casting.

Spell Mimic

When you reach 3rd level, you gain a limited ability to cast spells. See Spells Rules for the general rules of spellcasting.

Spell Mimic

When you are the target of a spell you can use your Reaction to temporarily memorize the spell and cast it as if you were a spell caster. The spell stays memorized until you take a long rest. Casting the spell removes it from your memory. You can only memorize one spell at a time; however, new spells cast in your presence can be memorize at the expense of releasing an already memorized spell. You can use this feature a number of times equal to your charisma modifier. You regain the uses of this feature after completing a short or long rest.

You can memorize a spell less than or equal to the maximum spell level listed in the Spell Thief table.

Spellcasting Ability

Charisma is your spellcasting ability for your memorized spell, since you learn your spell through absorbing the magical energy around you. You use your Charisma whenever a spell refers to your spellcasting ability. In addition, you use your Charisma modifier when setting the saving throw DC for a memorized spell you cast and when making an attack roll with one.

Spell save DC = 8 + your proficiency bonus + your Charisma modifier

Spell attack modifier = your proficiency bonus + your Charisma modifier

Read Scroll

Starting at 3rd level, your knowledge of the arcane has granted you the ability to use spell scrolls as if they were part of your class. You now can ignore class, and race requirements in order to read a scroll, however the scroll's level must be equal to or less than the maximum spell level you can memorize as listed in the Spell Thief table.

In order to read a scroll you must make an Arcana check where the DC is equal to 10 plus the spell's level. On a success you perform the actions as listed on the scroll using your Spell Thief spell casting ability.

Improved spell mimic

Starting at 9th level, if an ally within your line of sight has a spell cast on them, you can use your spell mimic ability to memorize that spell until cast or the next long rest.

Spell Syphon

At 13th level, when you make a weapon attack against a creature that can cast spells you can use your bonus action to memorize one of its known/prepared spells as if you had used your spell mimic ability.

Magical Dam

At 17th level, you gain the ability to magically stop a spellcaster from tapping into their magical ability.

When you use your spell syphon ability, you force the targeted spell caster to make a con saving throw vs your spell (DC{{savedc:cha}}). On a failed save, the creature can't cast a spell until the end of its next turn.

You can use this feature twice per short rest.
