Way of the Earthbreaker

Tales speak of a group of Stone Giants capable of manipulating the earth and taking the fortitude of the mountains as a blessing. Those who follow those giants and tread the path of the Earthbreaker use their ki to attune to the surface around them, sending waves of energy hurling towards their foes or hardening their skin with layers of stone.

Seismic Wave

Starting when you choose this tradition at 3rd level, you learn to agitate the surrounding surface with a torrent of ki.
Once per turn, you may spend a ki point to replace one of your unarmed strikes with a Seismic Wave, sending forth a shockwave of energy from your fists into the ground.

All chosen creatures within 10ft of you need to do a Strength saving throw against your Ki save DC (DC = 8 + Proficiency + WIS modifier). On a fail, they take Force damage equal to two rolls of your Martial Arts die and are knocked prone or pushed 10 feet away (your choice each time you activate this ability). On a success they take halved damage, and aren't knocked prone or pushed away. Creatures that are not in contact with the ground have advantage on the saving throw.
Landing a critical hit also allows you to perform a Seismic Wave without spending a ki point, performed as a free action immediately after the critical hit.

At 11th level, the damage of your seismic wave increases to three rolls of your Martial Arts die. You can only use Seismic Wave once per turn.

 

Earthly Bulwark

Starting at 3rd level, you learn to turn your skin to stone, permanently enhancing your defense.
While not wearing armor or shields , your AC equals 10 + Strength modifier + Wisdom modifier.

Stance of the Mountain

At 6th level, you can assume the Stance of the Mountain, increasing your fortitude and strength.

As a bonus action, you gain temporary hit points equal to your monk level.
If you use your Seismic Wave feature while Stance of the mountain is active, Seismic Wave's range is increased by 5ft, and you gain temporary hit points equal to your monk level.

This effect lasts 1 minute. You can do this an amount of times per long rest equal to your proficiency modifier.

Earthwalker

Starting at 11th level, your connection to the ground underneath you strengthens, allowing you to see with your feet.
You gain tremorsense up to 10ft. Additionally, you gain a burrowing speed equal to your walking speed.

Freezing summits, Scorching depths

Beginning at 17th level, you have grown to accept the dichotomy of the mountains.

When using your Seismic Wave feature, you can change its damage type to between force, fire or cold damage.
Additionally, you gain resistance to fire and cold damage, and you become immune to detrimental effects due to extremely hot or extremely cold weather.
