Bard
Base Class: Bard

The crowd cower in fear as the dragon from the tale they have all known from child hood rears its head and releases a burst of flame into the sky, they can feel the heat on their skin and their ears ring with the sound of its fearsome roar. With a gesture the illusion blinks out of existence and the entertainer bows to the still stunned crowd. Those of study and perform in the College of Illusion are rare as one has to really feel and understand life to be able to replicate it in a realistic illusion.

Suspension of Disbelief

3rd-level College of Illusion feature

You are a master at creating realistic illusions. When a creature within 60ft of you that you can see makes an intelligence (investigate) check on an illusion that you have created you can use your reaction to expend one use of your Bardic Inspiration, rolling a Bardic Inspiration die to increase the DC by the number rolled. When you cast an illusion spell you may expend one use of your Bardic Inspiration to cast it without verbal or somatic components.

Marvellous Mirage

3rd-level College of Mirage feature

You spin an intricate illusion that captivates hearts and minds of its viewers. You learn the Major Illusion spell, it counts as a bard spell and does not count against your spells known. You may also cast it as a ritual. When you do so the spell gains the following effects you may use an action on your turn to change the nature of the illusion causing to flow seamlessly from one form to another. The spell area increases as you gain levels in this class increasing to 30ft at 6th level and 40ft at 14th level. You have advantage on Charisma checks against those you try to influence who can see your illusion and have not recognised it to be an illusion.

Illusionary Expertise

6th-level College of Mirage feature

At 6th level, you learn two spells of your choice from any class. A spell you choose must be of the illusion school of magic and of a level you can cast of the illusion school of magic, as shown on the Bard table, or a cantrip. The chosen spells count as bard spells for you but don’t count against the number of bard spells you know.

Realistic Illusions

6th-level College of Mirage feature

Starting at 6th level, when you cast an illusion spell that has a duration of 1 minute or longer, you can use your action to change the nature of that illusion (using the spell’s normal parameters for the illusion), provided that you can see the illusion.

Infectious Inspiration

14th-level College of Mirage feature

By 14th level, you have learned the secret of weaving shadow magic into your illusions to give them a semi-reality. When you cast an illusion spell of 1st level or higher, you can choose one inanimate, nonmagical object that is part of the illusion and make that object real. You can do this on your turn as a bonus action while the spell is ongoing. The object remains real for 1 minute. For example, you can create an illusion of a bridge over a chasm and then make it real long enough for your allies to cross.

The object can’t deal damage or otherwise directly harm anyone.
