Ranger
Base Class: Ranger

The Beast of Dread Conclave follows the archetype Beast Master archetype, with a twist. Your beast companion is from the domain of dread. Often the beast and the ranger creates a bond due to circumstance and work as one to fight common foes.
Emulating the Beast Master archetype means committing yourself to this ideal, working in partnership with a beast as its companion, friend or master.

Dread Companion

At 3rd level, as an action, you can magically summon the dread beast that is bound to you. It appears in an unoccupied space of your choice within 30 feet of you.

You magically summon a dread beast, which draws strength from your bond with the domain of dread. The beast is friendly to you and your companions and obeys your commands. Its stat block - Beast of Dread - uses your proficiency bonus (PB) in several places. You determine the appearance the beast has, appropriate for the stat block. Whatever appearance you choose, it emanates an aura of eerie and dread indicating a dark mystical origin.

In combat, the dread beast acts during your turn.
When you take the attack action, you can sacrifice one of your attacks to command the beast to take the Attack action.
As a bonus action you can command it to take Attack action, dodge, hide, search, or interact with/use an object.
If you give no command, it will take the dodge action.
If you are incapacitated, the beast can take any action of its choice, not just Dodge.
It can move and use its reaction on its own.

The dread beast remains until it is reduced to 0 hit points, until you use this feature to summon the dread beast again, or until you die. Any nonmagical items the dread beast is wearing or carrying is left behind when the dread beast vanishes.

Once you summon the dread beast, you can’t do so again until you finish a long rest, unless you expend a spell slot of 1st level or higher to summon it.
