Base Class: Fighter
This subclass is based off of Crocodile from One Piece.
The sand sand fruit is one of the extremely rare devil fruits - specifically, the logia devil fruits, that allow the user to turn into, control and produce a certain element of nature, such as fire or smoke. The sand sand fruit is associated with the element of sand.
Logia
Beginning when you eat the sand sand fruit, you gain a number of logia charges equal to your proficiency bonus that recharge when you take a short rest. You may spend logia charges to perform unique manouvers, starting with:
Sand form. You become a floating cloud of sand, gaining immunity to slashing, piercing and bludgeoning damage from nonmagical weapons that aren’t made of seastone. While in this form, you also cannot be grappled. You maintain this form for one round.
Ground Secco. As an action, you may dry an object that is large or smaller, turn a boulder that is large or smaller into sand or dry up the earth within a 15 ft. radius of you, killing plants rooted within that radius.
Desert Lazo. When you take the attack action using a melee weapon or an unarmed strike, you may spend any number of logia charges to increase the attack’s reach by 5 ft. per charge.
If a logia feature requires a saving throw, the DC equals 8 + your Dexterity modifier + your proficiency bonus.
Marine Paralysis
As a devil fruit user, the sea itself is repulsed by you. You lose any swimming speed you had before, and you automatically fail Strength (Athletics) checks made to swim. When you are wet, you have disadvantage on ability checks, attack rolls and saving throws, and when completely submerged in water, you become paralyzed.
Slashing Sands
Starting at 7th level, you learn to use your sand to attack. You learn the following logia manouvers:
Desert Spada/Desert la Spada. You send a blade of sand across the floor, slicing through anything in a 60 ft. line that is 5 ft. wide or in a 15 ft. cone. All creatures within the area must succeed a Dexterity saving throw or receive 4d8 slashing damage. The damage increases by 1d8 when you reach 11th level (5d8), and 17th level (6d8).
Desert Girasole. You turn the area within a 10 ft. radius in front of you into quicksand. The quicksand is difficult terrain, and creatures who enter it or start their turn in it are pulled 5 ft. towards its centre. Creatures already in the centre become buried in sand and cannot breathe, see or move until they free themselves by making a successful strength saving throw.
Advanced Manouvers
At 10th level, your mastery over the powers of the sand sand fruit has allowed you to enhance your previous abilities. Apply the following modifications to your logia manouvers:
Thanks to your connection with the earth element, your logia attacks are considered magical for the purpose of overcoming resistance and immunity to nonmagical attacks and damage.
You may target a creature that requires water to function with Ground Secco. If you do, make a melee attack against that creature, using your Dexterity modifier. On hit, the creature takes no damage, but gains one stack of exhaustion. Exhaustion gained through this feature can be healed with a short rest, so long as the afflicted creature has access to drinking water.
Sand Form can now be used as a reaction when you are targeted by an attack (but before you know if the attack hits or not).
One with the Earth
Starting at 15th level, your connection withthe earth becomes so strong that you've learned to perceive your surroundings through it. You gain tremorsense for 30 ft.
Desert Grande Espada
By 15th level, you've learned to use a deadly logia technique of your sand sand fruit.
Desert Grande Espada. A spike erupts from the earth, thrusting into the target with tremendous speed. Target one creature that is on the ground within 30 ft. of you and make a ranged attack against it. The attack causes 6d10 piercing damage on hit. The target does not benefit from bonuses to its AC deriving from its Dexterity, the effects of the dodge action, half cover or three-quarters cover against this attack.
Manifest Disaster
At 18th level, your control over sand becomes so potent, you learn to manifest sandstorms. You can use this feature in one of the following ways:
Sables. You may cast control weather, only with the following conditions: precipitaion 1 (clear), temperature 1 (unbearable heat), wind 5 (storm). Additionally, the winds carry enormous amounts of sand. When casting this spell this way, you require no material components.
Sables: Pesado. You concentrate an entire sandstorm in the palm of your hand and make it burst violently. The sandstorm erupts in a 10 ft. wide cylinder within 30 ft. of you. All creatures within the area must succeed a Dexterity saving throw or take 8d12 bludgeoning damage, taking halved damage on a successful save. Creatures who failed this saving throw are pushed to the nearest unoccupied space outside the area of the sandstorm.
You can only manifest one sandstorm a day.
