Paladin
Base Class: Paladin
*Mainly used in my parties own homebrew campaign where our Paladin is taught under a church of the Greyhawk god Kord. I've taken some elements from another "Oath of Courage" subclass that I thought were amazing storytelling elements. Trying not to plagiarize, but still making it fun!*

Oath of the Courageous Soul:

Warriors are found plentiful in the world, ranging from all different races, creeds and backgrounds. However, Paladins who take the Oath of the Courageous Soul are fearless, Running headfirst into battle with the simple idea that they can take on the world, these fine soldiers dedicate their lives to proving their bravery and courage to the god of courage, Kord. They must stand strong in the face of adversity, and protect those who cannot. They use their strength to fight alongside their allies, with the ferocity of a raging storm, fighting to protect until their last breath.

The Sacred Tenets:

Courage. Be willing to forgo any fear and face danger head on with no second thoughts, for bravery should always prevail.

Selfless. Always show compassion for the fearful, and be the fearless for them; with no interest in reward.

Haven. Be the reliable one that others can feel safe with.

Faithful. Show honor with those who trust in you, since trust is a gift given few.

Channel Divinity

When you take this oath at 3rd level, you gain the following two Channel Divinity options.

Thunderous Weapon. As a bonus action, you may sue your channel divinity to imbue your weapon with arcs of lightning, adding 1d6 lightning damage to all attack rolls with that weapon for 3 turns. This weapon also is considered magical and emits a crackling blue bright light in a 10-foot radius and dim light in a 20-foot radius beyond that.

If you are no longer holding or carrying this weapon, or if you fall unconscious, this effect ends.

Call the Storm. as an action, call upon the storms of Kord, and summon a 20-foot sphere of swirling storm clouds and thunder that lasts 10 minutes. Enemies inside the storm must make a Constitution saving throw or become Blinded and Deafened.

The Blinded and Deafened conditions end if the enemies leave the storm cloud.

Oath Spells

You gain oath spells at the paladin levels listed.

Oath of Devotion Spells

Shocking Companion

At level 3 when you choose the Oath of Courageous Soul, Kord grants you divine assistance in the form of an orb of light as your familiar. This companion appears as an orb of light (color up to the player) with pixie-like wings. They cannot assist in battle however, give you the follow actions:

-As an action you may summon or dismiss your companion.

-The companion gives off light bright light up to a five-foot radius and dim light for another 5 ft.

-Outside of battle if you are lost or confused you may ask for divine assistance from your companion to guide you. (Assistance type and amount is up to DM discretion)

*Thank you Bivens for the amazing idea for a companion, literally has made some amazing moments in our campaign :) had to add to my own custom oath because I couldn't part with him!*

Stormsense Aura

Starting at 7th level, you and friendly creatures within 10 feet of you can’t be blinded or deafened while you are conscious.

At 18th level, the range of this aura increases to 30 feet.

Shield of Bravery

Beginning at 15th level, you are always under the effects of a shield of faith spell.

Become the Tempest

At 20th level, as an action, you become the embodiment of a lightning strike. For 1 minute, electricity courses over you body and armor, granting a +2 to AC. In addition, any creature making a physical attack on you must make a constitution saving throw. On a failed save, creatures take 8d8 Lightning damage, and half as much on a successful one. You also gain advantage on any attack roll for the duration.

This ability causes you to glow a bright crackling blue light and shines bright light in a 30 foot radius and dim light another 30 feet beyond that.
