Barbarian
Base Class: Barbarian

These barbarians harness the primal fury of their rage to such a degree that they can temporarily alter their forms. Whether through adrenal rushes and vigorous training, the influence of a rare curse bestowed by lycanthropes or hags, lineage tracing back to shapeshifters or changelings, or a strong connection to spiritual guardians or infernal energies, they possess the ability to reshape their bodies in brutal fashion.

Work closely with your Dungeon Master to explore the origins of your new form and how it intertwines with your character's backstory. Regardless of the catalyst, these barbarians find their bodies barely able to contain the sheer intensity of their boundless rage

Wrathful Form

Starting when you choose this path at 3rd level, when you enter your rage, you transform your body into it's altered form. Until your rage ends, you gain the following benefits:

  • Bash, Rip, & Tear: Your body becomes a living weapon, and your unarmed strikes do 1d6 piercing, slashing, or bludgeoning damage (your choice, depending on your form). Once on each of your turns when you attack this way using the Attack action, you can make one additional attack as part of the same action. Additionally, If both of these attacks successfully hit the same target, you may use your bonus action to tear at or bite into that target, dealing an additional 1d6 piercing damage.

The damage die of this feature increases when you reach certain levels in this class, increasing to 1d8 at 5th level, 1d10 at 10th level, and 1d12 at 15th level

  • Your movement speed is increased by 10ft

Harrowing Physique

Beginning at 6th level, your forms intensity grows, your enhanced body resists enemy attacks while your strikes cleave through. While raging, your AC is increased by 1.
Additionally, as your forms intensity grows, the unarmed strikes of your Wrathful Form now count as magical for the purpose of overcoming resistance and immunity to nonmagical attacks and damage.

You also gain access to the following feature:

Monstrous Threat: Whether through a flash of altered eyes, displaying monstrous teeth , or from sudden unnatural muscle growth, you may give a target creature a glimpse into your altered form. If you do, you may use your Strength modifier instead of Charisma when making Intimidation checks against that target.

Dreadful Roar

Beginning at 10th level, your Wrathful Form's battlecries boom like thunder across the battlefield, allowing you to unleash a primal roar that strikes fear into the hearts of your enemies.

While raging, as an action, you may let out a terrifying roar. Each hostile creature within a 10 ft radius that can hear this roar must a Wisdom saving throw (DC equal to 8 + your proficiency bonus + your Charisma modifier) or be frightened of the barbarian for 1 minute. If a creature frightened by this effect ends the turn more than 20 ft away from the barbarian, it can attempt another Wisdom saving throw to end the effect on it. You may only use this feature one time per rage.

Apex Form

Beginning at 14th level, your form is no longer bound by the confines of your flesh, and you can push your limits even further into a towering colossus of muscle and might, a living embodiment of unbridled fury. While raging, you may use an Action to channel a surge of power and transform into your Apex Form. Until you stop raging, you gain all of the benefits of the Enlarge effect of the enlarge-reduce spell, and you gain temporary hit points equal to your Barbarian level.

You may use this feature once per long rest.
