Base Class: Wizard
Most famous practitioner is Veyran, known as the Voice of Duality.
Arcane Surge
At 2nd level, you have learned how to release arcana to disrupt the advances of enemies. When you are hit by an attack, you may release a surge of arcana, rolling a spellcasting attack. If your attack roll is higher than the triggering attack, you gain resistance to the triggering damage and may direct the equivalent amount of damage taken to another creature you can see within 30 ft. of you.
When you are forced to make a saving throw and fail, you may release a surge of arcana to grant yourself a bonus to that saving throw equal to your intelligence modifier, taking an amount of psychic damage equal to the bonus applied. This damage cannot be reduced in any way.
Tactical Response
Starting at 2nd level, your keen ability to assess tactical situations grants you an additional reaction that can be used per turn rotation.
Spell Chain
Starting at 6th level, you can manipulate the flow of arcana within your own body to chain together spells. When you cast a spell that does not require concentration as an action, you may immediately cast another spell that also does not require concentration with a lower level than the previous spell. This continues until you end the chain, or cast a cantrip. Each time you cast a spell beyond the first one cast, you must make an Intelligence saving throw. The DC for the saving throw is equal to 10 + the number of spells cast on that turn. If you succeed on the saving throw, you may continue the chain. If you fail, your spell chain ends and you gain levels of exhaustion equal to half the total number of spells cast, rounded up, and you expend and roll a number of hit dice equal to the number of spells cast this turn, taking psychic damage equal to the amount rolled. This psychic damage cannot be reduced in any way.
Chain Overcharge
Beginning at 10th level, you are able to temporarily harness the excess arcana that your spells release into the world. If you have cast a 5th level or higher spell on your turn, you gain the ability to disengage as a bonus action. When you use it, each creature of your choice within 15 feet of you takes lightning damage equal to the number of spells you have cast this turn.
Master of Magecraft
At 14th level, your mastery of your craft grants you more control over your chaotic magical bursts. When you use your Spell Chain feature, any intelligence saving throw you make as part of that feature is made at advantage.
