Monk
Base Class: Monk

A monk who follows the path of the Amalgamation believes that the best fighting style is one that incorporates many moves. This belief extends to the point to where you notice each creature has its own fighting style although they do have similarities, each are different in some way. This path teaches its students to acknowledge different creatures fighting styles and obtaining those fighting styles by combining your essence with the creature's which is possible by focusing one's ki to act as an accommodative force that allows the joining of essence. This unique type of ki is known as Scion Ki. The essence of the creature is commonly the skin due to how simple it is which can free up space for more grafts, but some use different parts for different reasons...

There are different grafting methods which allows you to be proficient in one of the following tools: Weavers Tools, Leatherworkers Tools, Carpenters Tools

Tier 1 Grafting

Starting when you choose this tradition at 3rd level, you can now generate a sufficient amount of Scion to graft the skins of creatures on you.

At level 3, you have access to Tier 1 Grafts. Tier 1 Grafts cost 1 Scion point to activate and take up 1 slot of space on your body. Tier 1 grafts are grafts of monsters up to a CR of 3

  • Tier 1 Grafts cost 1 Scion Point to summon in and out of combat
  • Tier 1 Grafts take up 1 slot on your body
  • Tier 1 Grafts are grafts from monsters with a CR range of 0 to 3

Scion Points

Scion Points are used for your grafts

Grafting Rules

Starting when you choose this tradition at 3rd level, you can now generate a sufficient amount of Scion to graft the skins of creatures on you.

  • Your body can hold on to a certain number of grafts that are equal to your PROFIENCY BONUS + 1
  • You now have a new pool of Scion points that allows you to activate grafts and use their special traits.
    • These points can be converted between each other. As a bonus action, you can spend 2 Ki points to make 1 Scion point. you can not go over the maximum amount of Scion points you have.

As a bonus Action, you can spend Scion point(s) to partially wild shape a part of your body into a graft you have on yourself

  • Whenever you do so, you can now have access to the move-pool of the graft for 1 minute in combat and 1 hour out of combat.
  • You are proficient in these graft attacks
  • Any mele attacks from your grafts will count as unarmed.
    • These mele attacks cannot be used with the Martial Arts ability that allows you to make another unarmed attack as a bonus action if you strike with an unarmed attack as a way to balance having too much damage. You can still use this feature with your normal fist as the extra unarmed attack
    • Flurry of blows might need to cost 2 ki points
  • Each move-pool will vary with each creature. An ability/special attack will cost Scion points while normal attacks will not cost anything. Your move-pool should be on the other section in Notes menu on your character sheet for organization. Your graft move-pool should also note what tier graft it is for understanding.
    • Note: Each move-pool will take aspects and even attacks from the creature you are basing the graft off of. You and your DM should go over the graft to make sure it is fair for everyone on the table.
    • If you decide to use a monk ability while having a graft active (Example: Using Flurry of Blows while having a hook horror graft active), you must spend both ki points and Scion points in order to use the ability. The Scion points costs the same as the ki points (Example: Monk ability costs 1 ki, so the Scion cost will also be 1 in this situation).

Amalgamated Knowledge

Starting at level 6, you gain the knowledge from the creatures you have grafted onto yourself

  • You can understand and speak the language of the creatures you have grafted on you. (Example: Having a rat patch allows you to understand and talk to rats, as long as you have the rat graft.
  • You can use the skin of a humanoid as a Tier 1 graft which makes you transform into that humanoid for 1 hour. You can speak in the same voice as the humanoid but do not have any of the racial traits of that humanoid .

Tier 2 Grafting

At level 11, you can now use Tier 2 Grafts

  • Tier 2 Grafts cost 2 Scion Points to summon in and out of combat
  • Tier 2 Grafts take up 2 slots on your body
  • Tier 2 Grafts are grafts form monsters with a CR range of 4 to 8

Scion Recovery

  • Once per long rest, as a bonus action, you can recover 1d4+2 Scion Points at level 11.
  • At level 17, you can now recover 2d4+2 Scion Points

  • Tier 3 Grafts cost 3 Graft Points to summon in and out of combat
  • Tier 3 Grafts take up 3 slots on your body
  • Tier 3 Grafts are grafts from monsters with a CR range of 9-14
