Base Class: Bard
When the universe sat in perfect silence, it was the first sound that created the heavens. From creation came a thunderous choir that resonated throughout the universe and manifested the very weave of reality. Ancient musings have revealed that there is power in songs, stories, and philosophy.s, but one sect of bardic study has beheld the fundamental truths of the realms.
Discord. Stentorian orchestration was found to be the oldest and most primal of bardic magic. This revelation beheld a new genesis of glorious music, most commonly referred to as 'Metal'
Bards from this intensive and brutal college are revered with awe and sometimes fear, for their energetic performances can sometimes inspire vibrant thrashings of the body and mind, rocking the very soul of an individual entangled within the bard's story or song. Despite the chords that some folk might describe as dissonant, the tales these bards weave are ones of genuine passion, embroiled in the truths of the universe.
Bonus Proficiencies
When you join the College of Discord at 3rd level, you gain proficiency with medium armor, shields, and one martial weapon of your choice.
Weapon of Power
Also, at 3rd level, you learn to weave ancient discordant magics to bond weapons and instruments into a single entity. Whenever you finish a long rest, you can touch one weapon and one instrument that you are proficient with to magically fuse them into a functional hybrid of both. When you attack with that weapon, you can use your Charisma modifier, instead of Strength or Dexterity, for the attack and damage rolls. This benefit lasts until you finish a long rest. You can also use this weapon as a spellcasting focus for your bard spells.
You also learn the Thaumaturgy cantrip and Thunderwave spell, which don't count against the number of bard cantrips or spells you know.
Primordial Wail
Finally, at 3rd level, you gain the ability to bellow awesome chants of ancient power. As a bonus action, you can expend one use of your Bardic Inspiration to emit a supersonic shout at a creature within 60 feet of you. The Target takes thunder damage equal to the number you roll on the Bardic Inspiration die, and the creature must make a Strength saving throw against your bard spell save DC or be pushed up to 15 feet directly away from you and deafened until the end of your next turn. If the target collides with another creature or object, then both take additional damage equal to your Charisma modifier.
Strident Style
Starting at 6th level, your mastery of metal grants you the following benefits:
- You gain resistance to thunder damage.
- You have advantage on saving throws against being deafened.
- Once on each of your turns, when you hit a creature with a weapon attack, you can cause the attack to deal additional thunder damage equal to two of your Bardic Inspiration die.
Cacophonous Retort
Beginning at 14th level, the power of your voice is capable of thwarting the strongest incantations of the weave or disrupting the deadliest of strikes. When a creature you can see within 60 feet of you attempts to cast a spell or make an attack roll, you can use your reaction to use your Primordial Wail feature against them. The target must then also succeed on a Constitution saving throw against your bard spell DC. On a failure, the attack misses or the spell fails and has no effect
