Rogue
Base Class: Rogue

This subclass emphasizes stealth, precision, and mobility, allowing your character to strike swiftly and vanish into the shadows before their enemies even know what hit them. It complements the theme of your retired hitman gunslinger perfectly, providing you with the tools you need to thrive in the shadows and outmaneuver your foes.

Shadowstep

Starting at 3rd level, you gain the ability to blend into the shadows and move with unparalleled stealth. As a bonus action, you can teleport up to 30 feet to an unoccupied space that is in dim light or darkness, allowing you to quickly reposition yourself or escape from danger. This doesn't provoke attack of opportunity.

Assassin's Mark

At 3rd level, you learn to mark your targets for swift and lethal strikes. You can use a bonus action to mark them as your quarry. Until the end of your turn, you have advantage on attack rolls against the marked creature, and any attack that hits the marked creature is a critical hit if the attack is made from hiding or within dim light or darkness.

Cloak of Shadows

Starting at 9th level, you gain the ability to blend seamlessly into your surroundings, becoming nearly invisible to those around you. As an action, you can magically become invisible until the start of your next turn or until you make an attack, cast a spell, or force a creature to make a saving throw. Once you use this feature, you can't use it again until you finish a short or long rest.

Evasive Maneuvers

At 13th level, your agility and cunning allow you to slip away from danger with ease. When a creature you can see targets you with an attack, you can use your reaction to impose disadvantage on the attack roll. Additionally, if the attack misses you, you can move up to half your movement speed without provoking opportunity attacks.

Shadow Mastery

At 17th level, you have mastered the manipulation of shadows to a degree that few can match. You gain the following benefits:

  • You can cast the darkness spell without expending a spell slot. Once you do so, you can't do so again until you finish a long rest.
  • While in dim light or darkness, you have advantage on Dexterity (Stealth) checks and Wisdom (Perception) checks made to perceive creatures that rely on sight.
