Paladin
Base Class: Paladin

This Sub Class is based on the character Aatrox from League of Legends.(Also this is more of a concept rather than a finished homebrew so the balancing may be off)

Your Oath is to your weapon or any sentient item on your person. The Oath can be to do anything but the default for this Sub Class is to achieve death through battle with a worthy opponent, this does not mean your character will strive to die but rather to find a worthy opponent.

Oath Spells

  • 3rd Ensnaring Strike, Zephyr Strike
  • 5th Enhance Abilities, Spike Growth
  • 9th Haste, Slow
  • 13th Freedom of Movement, Stone Skin
  • 17th Hold Monster, Maelstrom

Cleaving Strike(Channel Divinity)

You channel the power of your oath to gain the martial prowess required to strike multiple enemies with a single weapon attack.

Starting at 3rd Level as a bonus action your next weapon attack can target up to 2 additional creatures adjacent to the target, this becomes a free action at 12th level

Death Bringer Stance(Channel Divinity)

You may channel the power of your oath into your stance fortifying your body and strengthening your weapon

Starting at 3rd Level As an Action, you enter a stance and gain +1 to all damage rolls and immunity to 1 damage type for 1 minute

Darkin Blade

When you strike a creature with your weapon, the creature may become disoriented from the attack and become stunned till the start of your next turn

Starting at 7th Level on a Critical Strike with a weapon attack, the creature targeted is stunned till the start of your next turn

Darkin Aura

Your weapon emanates a terrifying aura that causes fear to those who stay within its presence for too long.

Starting at 15th Level You gain a 5ft aura, if any selected creatures within the aura are in it at the end of their turns they become frightened of you til they succeed a Constitution Saving Throw against your Spell Save DC

World Ender Form

You allow your corrupted weapon to take hold of you, sprouting wings from your back and your skin hardening like steel.

Starting at 20th Level As a bonus action gain a form for 1 minute and gain the following benefits Flight Speed equal to your move speed, Darkin aura extends to 10ft, Darkin Blade triggers on 19s, and you gain resistance to all nonmagical bludgeoning, piercing, and slashing damage, you cannot use this feature again until you long rest or expend a 5th level spell
