Cleric
Base Class: Cleric

In the vast and mystical expanses of the Astral Plane, where the fabric of reality bends to the will of its inhabitants, the Githyanki Ghustils stand as beacons of healing and restoration. Born from a necessity in a realm where natural healing is an impossibility, the Ghustils have honed their unique ability to weave the raw, vibrant energies of the Astral Plane into powerful healing spells. This mastery makes them indispensable to the survival and prowess of the Githyanki warrior culture.

Origins and Training

Ghustils often begin their journey in the arcane arts, with many hailing from the ranks of wizards, bards, and, where the currents of psionics flow, psions. A select few may also emerge from the sorcerous bloodlines, drawn by their innate magical affinity. Regardless of their origins, all Ghustils share a common trait: a profound understanding of arcane lore, which serves as the foundation for their unique healing discipline. This deep knowledge of the arcane is not merely for the study of magic in its traditional sense but is a critical component in their manipulation of astral energies for healing purposes.

Role and Abilities

Unlike other spellcasters who might channel their magic into destructive force, Ghustils stand apart. They do not belong to the warlocks or sorcerers who unleash their power as weapons of war. Instead, they are esteemed members of the hr'a'cknir caste, akin to experts and craftsmen who wield their spells with precision and care to mend wounds and bolster their comrades. Their healing arts, though not as potent as the clerics of other races, surpass the capabilities of bards and rangers, rendering their talents invaluable and deeply respected within Githyanki society.

Military Significance

In the heat of battle and the grand schemes of astral conquest, the presence of a Ghustil is both a boon and a necessity. Their role transcends the boundaries of mere support; they are the lifeline of the Githyanki's military might. In every unit, from the smallest contingent to the vast armies that march upon realms like Pharagos, at least one Ghustil is found, ensuring the resilience and continuity of Githyanki prowess. Their mastery over healing spells serves not only to repair the toll taken by warfare but also symbolizes the strategic depth and adaptability of the Githyanki's approach to conflict and conquest.

The Path of the Ghustil

Becoming a Ghustil is a path marked by dedication, a profound connection to the astral energies, and an unyielding commitment to the well-being of one's kin. It is a journey that intertwines the arcane with the art of healing, set against the backdrop of the eternal expanse of the Astral Plane. Those who walk this path do so with the knowledge that their powers sustain the heart and soul of the Githyanki's warrior essence, making them indispensable architects of their race's destiny.

Channel Divinity: Mindgames

2nd Level Subclass Feature

At 2nd Level, your psionic powers are beginning to form a strong bond with your Cleric abilities, allowing you to use your Channel Divinity charges to empower your actions.
Use Channel Divinity: Mindgames as a Bonus action. Roll a d4 and call a number. If you are correct and your called number is rolled, choose one of the following:

Healing.
The target of your healing spell receives as many temporary hitpoints as they were healed by your next healing spell.

Damage.
Double the damage of your next damage spell.

Saving Throws.
Add your Intelligence modifier to your next Saving Throw.

The essence of the Astral Sea is interwoven with your very being, allowing you to call upon it whenever you please.

As an action, call upon the void to expand in a radius around you for 20 feet. The void creeps into the hearts of any foes within the radius, making them receive 1d4 additional psychic damage from any sources.
The void lasts for 10 turns and can be activated once per short rest.

At higher Levels.
The damage of the void increases with your level, 1d6 at 6th Level, 1d8 at 10th Level and 1d12 at 15th Level.

Mind Over Matter

6th Level Subclass Feature

You can use your action to create a pocket of calm in the minds of your allies. Choose a number of allies up to your Wisdom modifier (minimum of 1) within 30 feet. For the next minute, these allies can reroll any damage dice they choose once.
You can use this feature once per short rest.

Mental Fortress

8th Level Subclass Feature

As a reaction when you or an ally within 30 feet of you takes damage, you can attempt to shroud them in a psychic barrier. Make the target of this reaction call odds or evens, then roll a d6. If they were correct, grant them resistance to that instance of damage. Additionally, the target gains temporary hit points equal to your Cleric level + your Wisdom modifier. Once you use this feature, you can't use it again until you finish a short or long rest.

Astral Beacon

17th Level Subclass Feature
