Artificer
Base Class: Artificer

The Order of Chrome makes soldiers rather than recruiting, for optimal battlefield efficiency. The soldiers created are trained to use a specific set of weapons and tools and build them into their own bodies.

Integrated Tools

The Order of Chrome teaches soldiers to almost graft tools into themselves, to maximize efficiency on vital missions.

Integrated tools grants 8 options. but only a certain amount can be equipped at a time. (see Tool Slots feature)

Integrated tools can be used as a spell casting focus.

  1. Retractable Saw Blade - A spinning saw hidden away when not in use. An Investigation check against your Spell Save DC is required to notice the blade. Works as a melee weapon, range 5ft, 2d6 slashing damage and max damage against objects. It is either embedded into the arm of the user or magically hidden, to users choice.
  2. Grappling Claw - 40ft range, As an ranged attack, launch a metal hook.  Automatically hits objects, If it hits a creature, deals 1d6 piercing damage and the creature must succeed on a Strength save against your Spell Save DC or become grappled. If it hits an object, the user is pulled towards the object to the DM's discretion.
  3. Smoke Burst - 30ft range, As an an action, launch a small orb that creates a 10ft sphere centered on the point of impact of thick smoke that heavily obscures the sphere.
  4. Multi Tool Attachment - Works as Thieves Tools and Tinkers Tools.
  5. Fan Shield Emitter - As a reaction when being attacked, fan out the shield to add +1 to your AC. The effect ends after the attack is done, whether it hits or misses.
  6. Steel Hawk - As an Action once per short rest, deploy a metal hawk to fly undetected past enemy lines. You can see through the Hawks eyes and have full control of it for a minute, before it returns to you on its own. You can end the effect as a bonus action, and the hawk cannot make attacks. The Steel Hawk has the stats of a Hawk without attacks.
  7. Shadow Veil - As a bonus action, once per short or long rest, pull the veil above your head to gain +5 to stealth checks for the next minute.
  8. Force Emitter - As an action, create a 15ft cube in front of you that deals 1d8 thunder damage to anything caught inside. Any creatures must succeed on a Strength saving throw against your Spell Save DC or be pushed 10ft away.

Extra Attack

You can Attack twice, rather than once, when taking the Attack action on your turn.

Tool Sharing

An important trait for Order of Chrome soldiers is the ability to work as a team.

On a short or long rest, when deciding which tools are equipped, any unused tools can be allocated to nearby people. If they are not with you by the next rest, the tool is magically returned to you.

Perfected Trade

As your skill and power grows, so too does your bond with your tools. They are at their peak effectivity, due to the time you have had to work on them and improve all their features.

  1. Retractable Saw Blade - Damage increases to 3d6, and your Proficiency bonus is added to the Spell Save DC for Investigation checks to find it.
  2. Grappling Claw - Range increases to 60ft, damage increases to 1d8.
