Rogue
Base Class: Rogue

An assassin goes to make a long range shot from a rooftop.  While they expertly make the shot, the recoil from the heavy crossbow shifts their weight and they begin falling from their vantage point.  Against all odds, they manage to land in a soft pile of clothes with no injuries.  An assassin is compromised and attacked by an enemy with a short bow.  The attack lands, but not on the intended target.  A bird happens to fly between the assassin and the arrow, saving the assassin from certain death.  An assassin, confronted with impossible odds, hopes they can make an attack against an approaching dragon that’s over 600 feet away.  They release the bolt, hoping it hits.  The bolt manages to shoot the dragon directly in the eye, causing it to smash into the ground and die immediately.

An assassin is known as a master of expertise and cunning, but even the most carefully prepared assassin will sometimes experience a drawback!  Some assassins may just be luckier than others...

Ladybug assassins utilise their incredible luck, along with their killing expertise, to be formidable opponents in battle.  While an enemy may think they've cornered the assassin or killed them, some opportunity or coincidence presents itself, leading to the assassin's victory!

Bonus Proficiencies

When you choose this archetype at 3rd level, you gain proficiency with the disguise kit and the poisoner’s kit.

Luck of the Draw

Your luck continues to grow.  In fact, you are now so lucky, you can control coincidence!  Whenever you are about to take damage, you can choose to have some sort of interference or coincidence occur which prevents you from taking any damage.  This feature can only be used once per long rest.

Don't rely on good luck only.  You are a highly experienced assassin and you are at your deadliest when you get the drop on your enemies. You have advantage on attack rolls against any creature that hasn’t taken a turn in the combat yet.  In addition, any hit you score against a creature that is surprised is a critical hit.

Lucked Out

You become so lucky, bad luck doesn't seem to affect you!  When the assassin fails an attack roll or saving roll, they can use their reaction to instead give the fail to an enemy they can see within 60 feet of themselves.  On the enemy's next attack roll or saving throw, they will automatically fail.  This feature can only be used once per long rest.  If the assassin uses this action for a failed attack, the assassin can use their bonus action to attempt another attack.  If the assassin uses this action for a failed saving throw, they will be treated as having passed the saving throw.

Lucky Hit

Your luck ensures that your attacks almost always, and usually in uncanny ways, hit the target!  Once per long rest, you can choose to attack with advantage.  Your attacks are also so impossibly precise that they ignore half cover, and you do not take disadvantage on ranged shots unless the enemy is more than 200 feet from you.

As Luck Would Have It

Starting at 17th level, you become a master of instant death. When you attack and hit a creature that is surprised, it must make a CON saving throw.  On a failed save, double the damage of your attack against the creature.  If the creature succeeds this saving throw, once per long rest, you can instead choose an event to occur that causes a condition to the creature.  The conditions that can be inflicted are the following: blinded, frightened, stunned, or knocked prone.
