Base Class: Bard
One laugh drowns out a sea of groans for a college of Pun-ishment bard. These bards are known for their witty wordplay to the dismay of their foes and sometimes even their allies.
Quick thinking
When you join the College of Pun-ishment at 3rd level, you gain additional uses of your bardic inspiration equal to your intelligence modifier.
Spell Rave DC
Also at 3rd level, you learn how to use your wit to enhance others. As a reaction when an ally you can see within 60 ft. casts a spell requiring saving throw, you can expend two uses of Bardic Inspiration, roll the die, and add the number to the spell casters spell save DC. You must expend this before knowing the result of the save.
Hi Hungry, I'm Dad
When a use of your bardic inspiration is expended one creature you can see within 60 ft. must subtract half (rounded up) the result of the bardic inspiration die from their next attack, saving throw, or ability check. This check fails if the creature cannot hear you or has less than 6 intelligence. You may use this ability a number of times equal to your proficiency modifier per long rest.
Radical Secrets
Starting at 14th level, You gain access to the most powerful kind of magic... Puns. As a reaction, proficiency number of times per long rest, you may change the word of a spell to a pun or rhymed word to change the effect.
Obviously check with your DM about what they will allow but this is meant to be fun.
Examples:
You cast: Heat Metal -> Turned into Beat Metal the same effect but turns the damage type to force
You cast: Charm person -> Turned into Harm person -> If the creature fails its save while the spell is active you may use your action to deal 2d6 damage to the creature. A creature can repeat this saving throw at the start of it's turns
You cast: Wish -> Turned into Squish -> 20d10 on a failed strength save
You cast: Hold person -> Turned into Fold person -> If the creature fails the wisdom save it take 2d8 damage and has it's movement speed reduced to 10 ft.
