Base Class: Wizard

In the annals of magical history, there exists a lineage of wizards who have transcended the traditional boundaries of spellcasting, blending their arcane knowledge with combat prowess to become formidable warriors known as Arcane Combatants. These wizards eschew the conventional path of scholarly research, instead focusing their studies on mastering the art of wielding both magic and weapons with lethal efficiency.

The origins of the Arcane Combatants can be traced back to ancient battles where wizards sought to protect themselves in times of conflict. Drawing inspiration from martial traditions, these wizards began to experiment with infusing their spells into their strikes, discovering new ways to harness arcane energy to enhance their combat abilities. Over time, this knowledge evolved into a distinct school of magic, with practitioners dedicated to mastering the fusion of spellcasting and martial combat.

Arcane Combatants are renowned for their versatility on the battlefield, seamlessly transitioning between wielding weapons and casting spells to adapt to any situation. They possess an innate understanding of the intricate connections between magic and martial arts, allowing them to unleash devastating strikes infused with arcane power. Their unmatched combat prowess strikes fear into the hearts of their enemies, as they wield the full might of magic and steel with deadly precision.

As guardians of ancient arcane traditions, Arcane Combatants embody the union of intellect and strength, forging their own path amidst the myriad disciplines of wizardry. They stand as living testaments to the limitless potential of magic, proving that true mastery lies not only in the secrets of the arcane, but also in the skillful application of that knowledge in the heat of battle.

Arcane Strike

Starting at 2nd level, you learn to channel your magical prowess into your weapon attacks. The damage increases by 1d8 for each level of the spell slot expended beyond 1st level.

Additionally, you gain proficiency in unarmed strikes, which deal 1d4 bludgeoning damage plus your Intelligence modifier. Your unarmed strike is considered a finesse weapon, allowing you to use your Intelligence modifier instead of Strength for attack and damage rolls.
