Paladin
Base Class: Paladin

As the newest Goddess of Death, the Raven Queen is still considered to be an overly ambitious mortal by many dieties and demigods. But she is fighting a hard fought war to gain complete control over her domain. That includes ending the practice of cheating death through reanimation of corpses or more drastic steps to immortality.

The Raven Queen's presence on our plane is very weak. She calls on a small army of devoted followers, shadar-kai assassins, warlocks, and Oath of the Raven Queen paladins to handle here what she can't.

She is not vacant from this world however. She will come to you in misty forms or as a raven to whisper advice into your sleeping ear and subconscious. Few are chosen and, for many, you have received an immeasurable honor: representing the Lady on our plane.

She will give you ample resources and support in your battles. All she requires of you is devotion and tenacity, for the good fight is the long fight and the forces of Undeath must be sundered.

Channel Divinity

When you take this oath at 3rd level, you gain the following two Channel Divinity options.

Frighten Enemy. As an action, you speak a prayer of denunciation, using your Channel Divinity. Choose one creature within 60 feet of you that you can see. That creature must make a Wisdom saving throw, unless it is immune to being frightened. Undead and Fiends have disadvantage on this saving throw.

On a failed save, the creature is frightened for 1 minute or until it takes any damage. While frightened, the creature’s speed is 0, and it can’t benefit from any bonus to its speed.

On a successful save, the creature’s speed is halved for 1 minute or until the creature takes any damage.

Vow of Death. As a bonus action, you can utter a vow of death against a creature you can see within 10 feet of you, using your Channel Divinity. You gain advantage on attack rolls against the creature for 1 minute or until it drops to 0 hit points or falls unconscious. Against undead, your attacks also do an additional 1d8 radiant damage.

Raven Familiar

Your raven familiar will be typically found on your shoulder. They may be dismissed to the Shadowfell at any time and similarly recalled.

This creature is treated as are those in the Find Familiar spell.

Heart of Ice

By 7th level you can use a bonus action to pray once per long rest to the Raven Queen to lower your body temperature and slow your heartrate for one minute so that lesser undead (those of CR 3 and lower: skeletons, zombies, ghouls, and wights, etc.) have trouble getting a sensory lock on your position. During this period, any attack made on you by an undead is at disadvantage.

An Unkindness of Ravens

Once per long rest, a cry to the Raven Queen will bring forth 20 ravens that will peck and scratch an enemy you target within 120 ft without mercy.

These attacks are magical and do 5d6 piercing damage per round for one minute or until the attacked can make a successful DEX saving throw to beat them off enough to escape.

Aspect of the Consort

At 20th level, the Raven Queen takes you as one of her few consorts. This ultimate honor grants you the ability to transform into a half-person/half-raven. This transformation lasts for one hour and can be undergone once per long rest. You have the head of a raven and giant raven's wings giving you a wingspan of ten feet.

  • Your wings grant you a flying speed of 60 feet.
  • You are able to flap your wings and create an effect like the Gust of Wind spell. You can effectively cast this spell whenever you want, like a cantrip.
  • When in your presence foes must make a DC 15 WIS saving throw or be frightened. They can roll their save at the beginning of their turn until the fear effect is broken. While frightened, they must do everything they can to leave your presence.
  • You are able to peck enemies with your ten inch beak as a bonus action every round. Your beak acts as a +3 weapon that inflicts 1d8 damage + STR modifier and adds an additional 3d8 of necrotic damage that bypasses resistance and Immunity to necrotic damage.
  • While in raven form you have the Truesight ability.

Once you use this feature, you can’t use it again until you finish a long rest.
