Base Class: Paladin
Those who served as the armed forces of the Lord in life, proclaiming their good faith and acting for the Greater Glory of God while inflicting pain and cruelty, will be sentenced to the Seventh Circle of Hell, among the violent and the blasphemers who spoke in the name of the Omnipotent while shedding their blood and that of their victims, and will appear there even while they are still alive, as sinner Saints. Maybe you were a crusader, and your hubris led you to vent your arrogance on the “infidels”. Maybe you were a zealot who persecuted the apostates and the heretics well beyond the duties a pious man should have shown. Maybe you were a preacher, but you used your charisma to sow confusion in your community rather than to bring comfort. In doing so, you always followed your theological virtues (Faith, Hope, and Charity), and in front of the believers you never appeared as a sinner called out by the community. Indeed, they believe you served the Lord in many great works. And yet, in spite of this aura of Holiness, your heart did not remain pure, and you broke the law of the Lord while pretending to enforce it.
Oath Spells
You gain oath spells at the paladin levels listed.
Divine Protection
Starting at 15th level, you are always under the effect of a sanctuary spell. The spell save DC equals 8 + your proficiency bonus + your Charisma modifier. You cannot use this feature if your Banner is sullied with blood.
Peaceful Smile
Starting at 7th level, each time you use a spell of 1st level or higher to restore a creature’s hit points, you or another creature within 30 feet of you regain a number of hit points equal to 1d8 + your Charisma modifier.
Harbinger of Fury
Using your action, you shroud yourself in a halo of divine outrage.
You gain the following benefits for 1 minute: You exude an aura of power and outrage within 30 feet of you. The first time any enemy creature enters the aura or starts its turn during a battle, it is subjected to the effects of the My Will Be Done feature. While the effect lasts, you have an advantage on saving throws against spells cast by fiends or undead. Each time a friendly creature starts its turn in the aura, it regains 10 hit points. Once you use this feature, you can’t use it again until you finish a short or long rest.
Channel Divinity
When you take this oath at 3rd level, you gain the following two Channel Divinity options.
Embracing Your Sin
When you hit a creature with an attack using your Banner, you can spend 2 Hope Points to immediately purify your Banner.
