Base Class: Monk
Monks of the Way of the Blade Dancer flow through the battlefield with graceful dance moves and flowing strikes. They dual wield their weapons with frightening efficiency, performing a deadly dance that the entire battlefield is the audience for.
Path of the Blade Dancer
When you choose this tradition at 3rd level, your training grants you mastery over you movements and weapons. You gain the following benefits:
- Dancing Weapon: You become proficient with a weapon of your choice. This can be any melee weapon that lacks the heavy, versatile, and special traits, and can't be two-handed.
- Dual-Weapon Training: You can now use Two-Weapon Fighting with your chosen Dancing Weapon, regardless of the light property.
- Flowing Dodge: If you made an attack action on your turn, you can spend 3 Ki points to target an attack that is going to hit you. You make a DC 10 + attacker's DEX modifier DEX check. On a success, you dodge the attack and avoid damage. On failure, you take damage as normal. This ability cannot be used on Area of Effect attacks, such as a wizard's fireball or a dragon's breath weapon.
Ki Weapon
When you reach 6th level, you learn how to channel your ki not only into you fists, but into your weapons. You gain the following traits:
- Magic Weapon: While wielding you chosen Dancing Weapons, they become magical for the purpose of damage resistance.
- Ki Shot: You can choose to spend 1 ki point to make a ranged attack by shooting ki out of your Dancing Weapon. This attack does 1d6 force damage and adds DEX to attacks and damage.
Dance of War
Once you reach 11th level, your intense training has made your Dancing Weapons flow together as if they were partners in a dance. Whenever you use your bonus action to use Two-Weapon Fighting, you now add additional attacks as if it was a normal attack action. This includes Flurry of Blows.
Flowing Dance
Your training has reached its conclusion, and you have mastered the ebb and flow of battle. Whenever you make an attack action, you can activate Two-Weapon Fighting without using your bonus action.
