Fighter
Base Class: Fighter

The Night Warrior is one who chooses to battle their foes in the shadows, learning to be one with the dark, striking unseen. These warriors have mastered the night and wield it as a weapon to strike fear into the hearts of their enemies.

Dark Shroud

3rd-level Night Warrior feature

You can use a bonus action to create a 15 foot radius of magical darkness that is centered on you, follows your movement, and you can see through it. The darkness spreads around corners, creatures with darkvision can't see through this darkness, and nonmagical light can't illuminate it.

The shroud lasts for one minute or until you take damage equal to two times your Fighter level, until you dismiss it as a bonus action, or until you’re incapacitated. At 18th level, the shroud increases to 30 feet.

You can use this feature a number of times equal to your Proficiency bonus. You regain all expended uses when you finish a long rest.

Cloaked Retaliation

3rd-level Night Warrior feature

While Dark Shroud is active, if a creature misses an attack on you or an ally within the Shroud, you can make a special weapon attack against the creature as a bonus action on your next turn, as long as Dark Shroud is still active. You have advantage on the attack roll, and if it hits, the attack’s weapon deals an extra 1d8 of necrotic damage. At 10th level, your retaliation die turns into a d10. At 18th level, it turns to a d12.

Abyssal form

7th-level Night Warrior feature

You can cast Gaseous Form on yourself. As an action, while your Dark Shroud feature is active on you, you may cast Gaseous Form on yourself without providing material components. While the spell is active, you take the form of your Shroud. This lasts for one hour, until you take damage equal to two times your Fighter level, until you dismiss it as a bonus action, or until you’re incapacitated.

Once you use this feature, you can’t use it again until you finish a short or long rest.

Cover of night

10th-level Night Warrior feature.

You can detach your Dark Shroud from yourself. As a bonus action, you use a charge of Dark Shroud to summon or move your Shroud to follow another creature or object within 30 feet. During this time, any damage done to them is halved and taken by both the target and you. If you are farther than 60 feet from the edge of the Shroud, it will disappear at the end of your turn. If the centered target is a creature, it can see through the darkness.

As a bonus action, you can teleport to anywhere within the Shroud

This lasts for one minute, until the target takes damage equal to two times your Fighter level, until you dismiss it as a bonus action, or until you’re incapacitated.

You may still use Cloaked Retaliation on any attack that misses the centered creature or any non hostile creatures within the Shroud.

Acquainted with the night

15th-level Night Warrior feature.

You can make a second retaliation attack when you action surge. When you action surge on your turn you may attack twice instead of once on your next Cloaked Retaliation.

Deepest Dark

18th-level Night Warrior feature

You can use a bonus action to create two Shrouds with your Dark Shroud feature, and these Shrouds can coexist. If you try to create a third Shroud, the previous two Shrouds are destroyed. Both Shrouds can be used for the Cover of night feature.

In addition, when you roll initiative and have no uses of your Dark Shroud feature left, you regain one use of that feature.
