Warlock
Base Class: Warlock

The phrase, "Some people just get all the luck" is a fairly common saying, but sometimes the inverse is true. Some poor souls are doomed to suffer from they the day they were born. They live miserable lives and endure physical and emotional pain on a daily basis that would destroy most. When these unfortunates reach the end of their rope, occasionally, something truly unusual will happen. All the misery and torture that they suffered conglomerates and takes on a sentience of its own. These "Soulblights" as they are called, are irrevocably bound to the person from which they were created and form an unspoken pact with them. The Soulblight feeds off the negative emotions of their Warlock and turns these emotions into raw energy, which it then offers back to its host. As the Warlock grows in strength, so does the Soulblight, and vice versa. It is a tragic and perversely symbiotic relationship.

Pitiful

As a bonus action, you briefly activate an aura with a 10 ft. radius, which lasts for 6 seconds. All creatures within that aura must make a CHA save against your spell save DC. On a failed save, targets become sympathetic to you for one minute. A sympathetic creature has disadvantage on all saving throws and attack rolls made against you for the duration. A sympathetic creature may repeat the saving throw at the end of each of its turns.

Misery Loves Company

You lash out magically, inflicting a portion of your emotional pain on your enemies. When an enemy creature deals damage to you, you may use your reaction to activate this feature. The attacker must make a CHA save against your spell save DC. On a failed save, the attacking creature takes 2d6 psychic damage. This increases to 3d6 at 10th level, and 4d6 at 14th level. You can use this feature a number of times equal to your proficiency bonus per long rest.

Possession

As a bonus action, you can call upon your Soulblight for aid. It possesses you for one minute, granting you the effects of one of the options listed below. The possession end early if you are incapacitated. You can use this feature a number of times equal to your proficiency bonus per long rest.

Possession of the Body

When you activate your Possession, you can opt for a more physical focus. For one minute, you gain 3d8 temporary hit points, your movement speed increases by 10 ft, and you grow glowing spectral claws on your hands. You can use these claws to make a melee attack, dealing 2d10+STR Modifier force damage on a hit. At 14th level, the number of temporary hit points you gain increases to 4d8.

Possession of the Mind

When you activate your Possession, you can opt for a more magic-focused effect. For one minute, spells or effects which require a CHA or WIS save have no effect on you, and your Eldritch Blasts deal an additional 1d10 Force damage.

My Hell Made Manifest

Once per Long Rest, as an action, you can unleash the full power of your Soulblight in one devastating blast. Every creature within 60 ft of you must make a CHA Save against your Spell Save DC. On a failed Save, a creature takes 10d12 psychic damage, and half as much on a successful Save, and falls prone regardless of whether or not they saved. Any creature you designate as friendly takes half damage on a failed Save, and no damage on a successful save. Using this feature reduces you to 1hp and expends all your spell slots. The damage increases to 15d12 at 20th level.
