Druid
Base Class: Druid

Druids of the Circle of Imagination find beauty in creative expression. They see the potential in unhewn logs or unmolded clay. The whole world and all its creatures are just lying around waiting to be discovered and shaped.

These druids believe that all living creatures and inanimate objects are beautiful in their own ways. The movements of a dying insect can give inspiration to a new interpretive dance. Glass can be beautiful in both the creative blowing process and the magnificent sound of its destruction. Humanoids are some of the most creatively inspiring creatures around, each having their own unique cultures and customs and telling fascinating stories through courtship, politics, and complex beliefs.

Druids of this circle have a difficult time remaining in one place. Though they are very holistic, they tend to wander the world as individual nomads. These druids are just as quick to pick up a new religion or belief system as they are a new hobby, constantly looking for new learning experiences to satisfy their insatiable curiosity. It’s exceedingly rare to see multiple druids of this circle in one place, not because they harbor any ill will for their companions, but because they are so desperate to venture forth into the world once reaching maturity that many run away from their parents early just to add that to their list of new experiences. While druids of this circle always have several projects in the works, they rarely ever finish one before finding new love, passion, or inspiration. Though the druids of this circle can sometimes be hard to accept for their lack of engagement, their unwavering positive outlooks and endless well of creative expression often keep them from falling out of anyone’s good graces.

Circle Spells

Your endless well of creative and inventive ideas grants you access to certain spells. At 2nd level, you learn the encode thoughts cantrip. At 3rd, 5th, 7th, and 9th level you gain access to the spells listed for that level in the Circle of Imagination Spells table.

Once you gain access to one of these spells, you always have it prepared, and it doesn't count against the number of spells you can prepare each day. If you gain access to a spell that doesn't appear on the druid spell list, the spell is nonetheless a druid spell for you.

Creative Liberties

Aberrations, dragons, fey, monstrosities, and plants can also be considered beasts for the purposes of your spells and Wild Shape.

Additionally, while you are transformed by Wild Shape, you can use a bonus action to give your current form one property of another creature that you are able to Wild Shape into, such as giving a tiger the amphibious property of a frog. Maintaining this manipulation to your Wild Shape requires Concentration.

However, inspiration is fleeting and reality is often disappointing. Druids of the Circle of Imagination, unlike other druids, can only use their Wild Shape feature to magically assume the shapes of creatures that they have not seen before. Once witnessed, the canvas is no longer blank, all creative ideas about the potential the creature could have had are lost, and the druid grows so bored of the shape they are no longer willing to use it. If you exhaust your list of potential transformations, this limitation no longer applies.

Upsetting Imagery Evocation

Starting at 2nd level, you learn to harness your creativity to commit psychological warfare. When a creature that you can see moves into a space within 30 feet of you or starts its turn there, you can use your reaction to automatically deal psychic damage to that creature. The amount of psychic damage you deal is equal to your proficiency bonus. Describe a visual or other strange sensation to project into the creature’s mind that horrifies, confuses, or otherwise befuddles it. Creatures immune to the frightened condition are immune to this ability.

Circle of Imagination: Creative Process

Starting at 6th level, you have advantage on any ability check or saving throw you make while doing something that a common onlooker would find ridiculous.

Circle of Imagination: Master of None

Starting at 10th level, you finally find your bag of hobby holding buried deep somewhere within your pack. This bag is used exclusively for storing projects that you plan on returning to or finishing later. As an action, you can reach down deep into the bag and pull out any artisan’s tools, gaming sets, musical instruments, or other tools and kits with which you do not have proficiency. If these tools get more than 60 feet away from the bag, they magically teleport back inside.

If your bag of hobby holding is lost or destroyed, you can perform a complex one hour ritual of stacking 500 gold pieces to magically form another one. Performing this ritual destroys the previous bag and consumes the gold.

Circle of Imagination: Creative Vision

By 14th level, you have learned to use magic to turn your dreams into reality by casting a limited version of the wish spell. As an action, once per week, you can cast one spell that is 7th level or lower and has a casting time of 1 action. The spell can be from any class's spell list, and you don't need to meet the requirements in that spell, including costly components; the spell simply takes effect as part of this action.
