Sorcerer
Base Class: Sorcerer

Many sorcerers have acquired their powers through their draconic ancestry and pull their power from the blood that courses through them, but there lives an unlucky few who have had their bloodline "blessed" by a dragon of the past, most often because of an ancestor who impressed a dragon with their smithing talents. This blessing creates a connection with the metal associated with the dragon, meaning the success of a Metallic Sorcerer is entirely dependent on their skills in metallurgy and ability to utilize their metal's properties.

Nightly Production

After a long rest, roll a number of d4 equal to the total amount of spell slots you have to create a magical ingot of corresponding quality. As an additional cost to spellcasting, you channel one of these ingots, with an effect applied based on it's quality.

Quality Effect
1 Roll a d4. If the roll is even, the target(s) of the spell is random between characters within 10 ft of the spellcaster (including spellcaster)
2 Roll a d4. If the roll is a 1, the target(s) of the spell is random between characters within 10 ft of the spellcaster (including spellcaster)
3 -2 to the spell attack roll (magic missile casts one less missile)
4 No effect
5 +2 to the spell attack roll
6 +4 to the spell attack roll
7 You cast the spell with advantage. You have advantage on concentration saving throws while concentrating on a spell cast with this
8 Cast a spell normally, but expend a spell slot of a level one lower (casting a level 1 spell with this rerolls it's quality rather than consuming it)

Refining

You have learned the art of refining lower quality metals into those of a higher quality. By spending 2 sorcery points and an action, you can increase the quality of one of your selected magical ingots by 1 level. This can be done indefinitely provided enough sorcery points and actions.
