Base Class: Sorcerer
A Scion is the result of a purely magical being, such as a True Fae, Giant, or even a Dragon, deliberately creating a pure bloodline to serve their needs. The use of these bloodlines often spans for generations, but the process for creating Scions is a long and difficult one and it is not uncommon for the progenitor to be killed before the process is complete.
Magical Nature
Scions enjoy the benefit of magic being so natural to them that it’s merely a matter of muscle memory for them to cast. Starting at 1st level, when you cast a spell, you may make a performance check against your spell save DC (DC {{savedc:cha}}) to hide your nature, gaining the benefits of the Subtle Spell metamagic option. If you fail this check, you may still use the Subtle Spell metamagic option if you choose to learn it later. This feature may be used a number of times equal to half your Charisma modifier, rounded up.
Beguile
You have learned to exploit the fear others feel towards you. Beginning at 6th level, when you cast a spell that targets only one creature and requires a saving throw and they fail, you may choose for your target to become Charmed by you for one minute, as if under the effects of the Charm Person spell. You may use this feature twice before a long rest is required to recharge this ability.
Expert Direction
You have mastered your ability to manipulate magical energies and your foes are unable to escape your spells. At 14th level, when a creature passes a saving throw caused by one of your damaging spells, you may force the creature to reroll the saving throw, keeping the new result. If the targeted creature fails their second roll, you may maximize the damage of the spell. This feature may be used twice before a long rest is required to recharge this ability.
Concentrated Precision
You have gained the ability to concentrate your power into its purest form in order to maximize your effectiveness. At 18th level, when you successfully apply your Expert Direction trait, you may also count the targeted creature as vulnerable to your spell’s damage. If your target is normally resistant to your spell’s damage type, it takes damage as if it weren't. This ability has no effect if your target is immune to the spell’s damage type.
Once you use this ability, you must complete a long rest before you may use it again.
