Base Class: Ranger
Through torturous rituals and black magics, the Witch Hunter has altered their body to better hunt all things magic, and have grown an intensive tolerance to magic in the process.
Innate Magic Tolerance
Starting at 3rd level, you have Advantage on all saving throws to resist spells or other magical effects. Additionally, you may cast Dispel Magic as a 3rd level spell without consuming a spell slot a number of times equal to 1 + your Wisdom modifier, resetting after a short or long rest; this spell counts as a Ranger spell for you but does not count against the number of spells known, and can only target yourself when cast using Innate Magic Tolerance. You may cast Dispel Magic as a 5th level spell beginning at level 11 when using this feature.
Magic Sense
Starting at 3rd level, you can innately sense the presence of magic within 30 feet of you. If you sense magic in this way, you can use your action to see a faint aura around any visible creature or object in the area that bears magic, and you learn its school of magic, if any. This Feature can penetrate most barriers, but it is blocked by 3 feet of wood or dirt, 1 foot of stone, 1 inch of common metal, or a thin sheet of lead.
Anti-Mage
Starting at 7th level, you may cast Counterspell without expending a spell slot as a 3rd level Ranger spell that doesn't count against the number of spells known a number of times per long rest equal to 1 + your Wisdom modifier; you may cast this as a 5th level spell starting at level 15. If you successfully land a melee weapon attack, you may expend one of your usages of Dispel Magic (see Innate Magic Tolerance) to cast Dispel Magic as a 3rd level spell on your target (without expending an action or bonus action).
Witch Hunting
Starting at 11th level, choose two of the following bonuses. You get an additional choice at 15th level.
Absorb Magic
Whenever you dispel magic using the Innate Magic Tolerance feature, or counter a spell using the Anti-Mage feature, you may regain a number of hit points equal to twice the dispelled spell's level plus your spellcasting modifier.
Backlash
Whenever you successfully resist a spell's effects, you may expend your reaction to force the caster of that spell to take Xd4 psychic damage where X is the level of the spell resisted (cantrips qualify as 1).
Improved Magic Sense
You know if there is an aberration, celestial, elemental, fey, fiend, or undead within 30 feet of you, or within 60 feet of you if they are one of your favored enemies, as well as where the creature is located. Similarly, you know if there is a place or object within 30 feet of you that has been magically consecrated or desecrated. Additionally, you can sense the presence and location of poisons, poisonous creatures, and diseases within 30 feet of you. You also identify the kind of poison, poisonous creature, or disease in each case. This Feature can penetrate most barriers, but it is blocked by 3 feet of wood or dirt, 1 foot of stone, 1 inch of common metal, or a thin sheet of lead.
Reflect Magic
Whenever you successfully counter a spell using the Anti-Mage feature, if that spell targeted only you, you may (instead of countering it) redirect that spell to target the original caster.
Spellstrike
Whenever you make a successful melee attack, you may expend a Ranger spell slot, and deal Xd6 additional psychic damage, where X is equal to the expended slot's level.
Spitestrike
Whenever a spell is cast within the effective range of your weapon, you may expend your reaction to make an opportunity attack against whoever cast that spell.
Antimagic Incarnate
Starting at 15th level, you can cast Antimagic Field once per long rest as an 8th level Ranger spell that doesn't consume a spell slot and doesn't count against the number of spells known. When cast in this manner, the spell doesn't require concentration, but its duration is reduced to 1 minute.

Posted Jul 12, 2019A rework of the Witch Hunter. The previous version had a number of typos, and some of the Witch Hunting options were too strong, while others were too weak. I also disliked Justicar of Magic, and felt the flavor didn't quite fit with the rest of the subclass, so I replaced it with Antimagic Incarnate. I'm sure I'll notice other typos and features I dislike as time goes on, but for now, here's a more polished version of the Witch Hunter.
