Barbarian
Base Class: Barbarian

Path of the Gargoyle Barbarians get their name from their unique ability to form solid mineral armor around themselves. They take on a very defensive fighting style, exceling on the front lines of combat.

3rd: Mineral Armor

You can transform your body into a solid construct, effectively protecting your mind and body. Your skin, hair, and all equipment you carry take on the texture and appearance of solid rock. You  can use this feature an amount of times equal to your proficiency bonus. When you form your mineral armor, force creatures you choose within 10 feet of you to make a wisdom saving throw (Save DC = 8 + your proficiency bonus + your constitution modifier). On a fail, they cannot use the attack action to target any creature besides you on their next turn. You gain the following attributes when you activate your mineral armor:

  • Gain temporary hit points equal to three times your barbarian level
  • You are immune to stunned, paralyzed, incapacitated, blinded, deafened, frightened, poisoned, and charmed conditions
  • You are immune to poison damage
  • Your movement speed is halved

Your mineral armor dissipates if you drop below 1 hit point or at the start of your next turn and you lose any remaining temporary hit points granted by the armor.

The mineral armor can appear however you like, whether it be like sandstone, granite, obsidian, amethyst, jade, etc.

3rd: Stone Aspect

Your ability to transform in and out of mineral form makes you immune to the petrified condition. You also have advantage on stealth checks in rocky terrain.

While raging, your skin hardens and you grow mineral scales along your body. During your rage, you gain a +1 bonus to your armor class and each time you take damage it is reduced by half your proficiency bonus, rounded up.

6th: Quick Transformation

You have learned to react to opponents movements.

Before taking damage, you can use a reaction to rage or activate your mineral armor.

Additionally, you regain one use of your mineral armor if you roll initiative and have no uses of mineral armor left.

10th: Boulder Bash

Once per turn, you may cause a rock to form on your melee weapon which grants these benefits:

  • The attack deals magical bludgeoning damage
  • The damage die becomes 3d6
  • The target must make a strength save or be knocked 15 feet backwards and fall prone. The strength save DC is equal to 8 + your proficiency bonus + your strength modifier

The rock explodes only when you successfully hit a creature. Alternatively, you can throw the rock as a ranged attack with a range of 30/60 using your strength.

You can only have one bolder formed at a time, if you use this feature again the previous bolder dissipates in a puff of dust.

14th: Earthshaker

Your sensitivity to the ground around you grants you tremorsense up to  90 feet.

While raging, you can use a bonus action to stomp on the ground in front of you, causing it to tremble and shake until the start of your next turn.

The tremors can extend up to a thirty foot radius semi - circle in front of you. Creatures touching the ground within the effected area must make a strength saving throw ( save DC equals 8 + constitution modifier + proficiency bonus) or fall prone on a failed save. Until the tremors end the area has the following properties:

  • Anytime a creature besides you moves 5 feet within the area they must make the saving throw to avoid falling prone
  • The area is difficult terrain to creatures other then you

You can use this feature twice per rage.
