Fighter
Base Class: Fighter

Striking their opponents when they least expect it, practitioners of the Southern Blade move without showing purpose in order to confuse their enemies. These practitioners are usually compared to that of a moving flame, erratic and spontaneous in their attack patterns, never doing the same thing twice.

Flickering Strikes

Starting at 3rd level, your strikes move like flames and strike suddenly and randomly. When you make a melee attack against a creature and it misses, you can use your reaction to re-roll the attack. This also applies if a creature makes an attack against you and misses, you can use your reaction to make a melee weapon attack against that creature. Additionally, if a creature has a feature or skill that gives you disadvantage on melee attacks against them, you ignore it.

Walking with Flames

At 3rd level, you temper your body to resist the heat of the flames. You gain resistance to fire.

Ignite Soul

At 7th level, you learn to release the fire within your soul. As a bonus action, you heat the metal of your sword, dealing an additional 2d8 fire damage. Creatures within 5 feet of you must also make a DEX save or take 2d6 fire damage as the air around you becomes extremely hot, or half as much on a save. This feature lasts for 1 minute.

You can use this feature a number of times equal to your Intelligence Modifier per Long Rest

Southern Style: Salamander

At 10th level, when you ignite your soul you push yourself a bit further past your limit. When you make an attack while your Soul is Ignited, your blade burns the air and after a few seconds summons forth a trail of fire that rains down on your opponent. When you make a melee attack against a creature, they must make a Dexterity saving throw or take 4d6 fire damage or half as much on a success in addition to your normal weapon damage.

Southern Style: Fire Bog

At 15th level, you encase the battlefield in flames. When you ignite your soul, you send flames out in a wave around you. Each creature within 30 feet must make a dexterity saving throw or take 4d6 fire damage, or half as much on a success. Creatures that enter the area for the first time or start their turn in the area must also make the saving throws as long as they stay within the area of the skill. If a creature spends 2 consecutive turns within the area, they must make a Constitution saving throw or gain a point of exhaustion.

You can use this feature once per long rest.

Southern Style: Firebird

At 18th level, you enter into a stance with your sword high in the air over your head. When you ignite your soul, you can use an action to wreath your sword in flames and make a single attack. You make an attack against a creature within 90 feet as the flames extend higher into the sky and you strike down. If your attack hits, you deal 10d8 fire damage.

You can use this feature once per Long Rest.
