Paladin
Base Class: Paladin

The Oath of Bloodlust is one that not many paladins or people find respectable, and less that take it, as it consists of the acceptance of one's desire for the adrenaline of the battle, the pain and agony of their enemies and the fall of their foes under their power. This paladins often belong to guilds or groups with malevolent ideas or cults to demons or evil beings, as they seek no glory or victory like other paladins, but the fight itself.

As this paladins make their way through the battlefield, they intend, and will cause as much pain with their unholy power to those who dare to get in their way, often mistaken with armored berserkers, and usually carrying no shield in a demonstration of their careless way to destroy everything, and replacing it by a two handed weapon or a free hand for spellcasting to cause despair across the battlefield. And those who dare to ally with such warriors, find themselves with the strength to keep to keep fighting until their very last breath.

The most infamous and well known factor that adds to the reputation of this people is their use of blood and gore (whether it's their own, or their enemies) in battle, wether it is throwing chunks of gore as projectiles or using blood for boosting their oath's magic, as some of them also enjoy to cover themselves in their foes blood to see the fear in the faces of those who they fight.

Channel Divinity

When you take this oath at 3rd level, you gain the following two Channel Divinity options.

Horrific Weapon. As an action, you can imbue one weapon that you are holding with negative energy, using your Channel Divinity. For 1 minute, you deal an extra 1d4 necrotic damage on hit, and when you use a divine smite with this weapon, you deal necrotic damage. If the weapon is not already magical, it becomes magical for the duration.

You can end this effect on your turn as part of any other action. If you are no longer holding or carrying this weapon, or if you fall unconscious, this effect ends.

Sever Limb. As a bonus action, after dealing a critical hit to a severly wounded enemy you may sever a limb, using your Channel Divinity. If a creature has a number of hit points equal to or below twice your paladin level, you may cut off a limb. You may choose to either sever a leg or an arm, and that creature is considered to be bleeding out.

For 1 minute, it must make a constitution saving throw against your spellsave DC at the start of their turn, taking necrotic damage equal to your charisma modifier on a failure. It stops bleeding out if a minute passes, or it heals a number of hit points equal to your paladin level.

Oath Spells

You gain oath spells at the paladin levels listed.

Oath of Devotion Spells

Bloodlusted Devotion

Starting at 7th level, when you kill a creature, you regain hit points equal to your paladin level.

At 18th level, you regain hit points equal to twice your paladin level.

Rapid Slaughter

Beginning at 15th level, after killing a creature, you may make a melee weapon attack as a free action on your turn, targetting a creature within melee range. You can only do so once per turn.

Wrath of the Fallen

At 20th level, as an action, you can unleash an aura of bloodlust. For 1 minute, bright red light shines from you in a 10-foot radius, and dim light shines 10 feet beyond that.

Whenever you or an allied creature within the light aura is reduced to 0 hit points, they may take their turn immediately, falling unconscious at the end of it.

Whenever you or an allied creature that is unconscious in the light aura roll a death saving throw, they may make a melee weapon attack against a creature within range.

Once you use this feature, you can’t use it again until you finish a long rest.
