Base Class: Wizard
You have learned how to manipulate the fabric of reality itself, utilizing a mystical interface known as the Menu. With this power, you can access the underlying code of the universe, creating Save Points, altering reality, and delving into the very code of existence. However, meddling with such power comes with severe consequences, often resulting in glitches affecting not just you but the environment around you.
Menu Interface
At 2nd level, you gain unique abilities that bend the very fabric of reality to your liking. These abilities allow you to interact with and manipulate the universe in ways that defy conventional logic, but at a significant cost.
-
Data Spike: As an action, you can conjure a spike of raw, unstable data and hurl it at a target within 60 feet. Make a ranged spell attack. On a hit, the target takes 2d8 force damage and must make a Constitution saving throw against your spell save DC. On a failed save, the target becomes destabilized, causing it to have disadvantage on its next attack roll or ability check. You can use this feature a number of times equal to your Intelligence modifier (minimum of once). You regain all expended uses when you finish a long rest. Using this ability causes you to gain one level of Glitch (see Glitch Consequences).
-
Code Injection: You can inject a fragment of raw code into a creature or object within 30 feet. As an action, choose one of the following effects:
- Creature: The target must make a Constitution saving throw against your spell save DC. On a failed save, the target is stunned until the end of your next turn.
- Object: The object becomes unstable and unpredictable. For 1 minute, any creature that touches or interacts with the object must make a Dexterity saving throw or take 1d10 force damage. You can use this feature a number of times equal to your Intelligence modifier (minimum of once). You regain all expended uses when you finish a long rest. Using this ability causes you to gain one level of Glitch.
-
Reality Scramble: As a bonus action, you can scramble a small area of reality within 10 feet. For 1 minute, creatures in this area have disadvantage on attack rolls and saving throws. This effect moves with you, centered on your location. You can use this feature once, and regain the use of it after you finish a long rest. Using this ability causes you to gain one level of Glitch.
Reality Insight
At 2nd level, you gain access to the Menu Interface, allowing you to manipulate reality with precision. You can probe the fabric of reality to gain insights and information. As an action, you can focus your senses on a specific area or object within 30 feet. You gain knowledge about the target's history, properties, or any magical effects affecting it. The information you receive is based on the complexity of the target and the depth of your inquiry, providing you with valuable insights into the nature of the world around you. You can use this feature a number of times equal to your Intelligence modifier (minimum of once). You regain all expended uses when you finish a long rest.
Save Point
At 6th level, you gain the ability to create a temporal anchor in the fabric of reality, known as a Save Point. As an action, you can designate a point within 30 feet of you as a Save Point. This point becomes infused with residual temporal energy, marking it as a stable reference point in the ever-shifting landscape of Code.
-
Temporal Stability: While within 60 feet of your Save Point, you and friendly creatures gain advantage on saving throws against effects that would forcibly move or displace you, such as teleportation spells or abilities that cause involuntary movement.
-
Temporal Reversion: As a reaction when you or a friendly creature within 60 feet of your Save Point fails a saving throw, you can choose to revert time to the moment the Save Point was created. The failed saving throw is negated, and the creature is treated as if the triggering event never occurred. Once you use this feature, you can't use it again until you finish a short or long rest.
-
Temporal Anchor: Once per long rest, as an action, you can activate your Save Point, anchoring yourself and nearby allies to a stable point in time. For 1 minute, you and friendly creatures within 30 feet of the Save Point gain advantage on attack rolls, ability checks, and saving throws. Additionally, any damage dealt to you or friendly creatures within this radius is reduced by an amount equal to your Intelligence modifier (minimum of 1).
Creating a Save Point requires concentration, and if you lose concentration (as if you were concentrating on a spell), the Save Point dissipates, and its benefits end immediately. Additionally, each use of this feature inflicts severe strain on your being, causing you to gain one level of Glitch.
Glitch Consequence Table
Each time you utilize the Menu, you gain a level of Glitch. The effects of accumulating Glitch levels intensify, becoming increasingly hazardous to you and those around you.
1 Level of Glitch: Minor Distortions
- Effect on You: Minor visual distortions and auditory glitches cause discomfort and distraction. You have disadvantage on Intelligence-based checks.
- Effect on Environment: The environment around you experiences minor anomalies (e.g., flickering lights, shifting shadows).
2 Levels of Glitch: System Errors
- Effect on You: Frequent system errors and interface glitches make concentration difficult. You have disadvantage on all ability checks and saving throws.
- Effect on Environment: Small environmental hazards begin to manifest (e.g., unstable ground, random static discharges).
3 Levels of Glitch: Reality Warping
- Effect on You: Intermittent reality warping. At the start of each of your turns, roll a d6. On a roll of 1, a random effect from the Wild Magic Surge table occurs.
- Effect on Environment: The environment within 30 feet becomes mildly hazardous (e.g., sharp temperature changes, minor quakes).
4 Levels of Glitch: Existential Fragmentation
- Effect on You: Fragmentation of existence causes severe instability. You have disadvantage on all attack rolls and spellcasting checks.
- Effect on Environment: The environment around you becomes more unstable, causing difficult terrain and random bursts of energy. All creatures within 30 feet take 1d6 force damage at the start of your turn.
5 Levels of Glitch: Reality Instability
- Effect on You: Severe reality instability. At the start of each of your turns, roll a d6. On a roll of 1, you teleport to a random location within 100 feet, potentially into dangerous terrain or hazards (e.g., lava, deep water).
- Effect on Environment: The environment within 60 feet is highly unstable, with random hazardous effects (e.g., sudden fissures, explosive bursts of fire or ice). All creatures within this radius take 2d6 force damage at the start of your turn.
6 Levels of Glitch: Existential Breakdown
- Effect on You: You are temporarily erased from reality for 1 minute, rendering you incorporeal and unable to interact with the world. After the minute elapses, you return to your previous location, but you suffer one level of permanent exhaustion.
- Effect on Environment: The environment around you suffers a significant anomaly (e.g., gravity reversal, spontaneous firestorm). All creatures within 90 feet take 3d6 force damage at the start of your turn, and must succeed on a Dexterity saving throw (DC equal to your spell save DC) or suffer a random effect from the Wild Magic Surge table.
7 Levels of Glitch: Anomalous Catastrophe
- Effect on You: Your physical form begins to deteriorate, causing intense pain and disorientation. You are stunned for 1 round at the start of each of your turns.
- Effect on Environment: The environment within 120 feet becomes a chaotic storm of glitches. All creatures within this radius take 4d6 force damage at the start of your turn, and must succeed on a Constitution saving throw (DC equal to your spell save DC) or be knocked prone and blinded until the end of their next turn.
8 Levels of Glitch: Dimensional Collapse
- Effect on You: Your presence in reality becomes unstable, causing you to phase in and out of existence. You are incapacitated for 1 round at the start of each of your turns.
- Effect on Environment: The environment within 150 feet begins to collapse into itself, creating pockets of void and destructive energy. All creatures within this radius take 5d6 force damage at the start of your turn, and must succeed on a Wisdom saving throw (DC equal to your spell save DC) or be banished to a random plane of existence for 1 minute.
9 Levels of Glitch: Reality Collapse
- Effect on You: Your physical and mental stability are on the verge of complete collapse. You are paralyzed for 1 round at the start of each of your turns.
- Effect on Environment: The environment within 180 feet begins to collapse into a void of nothingness. All creatures within this radius take 6d6 force damage at the start of your turn, and must succeed on a Charisma saving throw (DC equal to your spell save DC) or be disintegrated, leaving nothing but dust.
10 Levels of Glitch: Total Annihilation
- Effect on You: You are consumed by the glitches, disintegrating into nothingness. You cease to exist, and cannot be resurrected by any means short of a wish spell.
- Effect on Environment: The environment within 300 feet is utterly destroyed, collapsing into a void of nothingness. All creatures and objects within this radius are disintegrated, leaving nothing but a barren, lifeless void.
Reality Alteration
At 10th level, your mastery of Code allows you to bend reality to your will. As an action, you can manipulate the environment, creatures, and objects within a 60-foot radius. The possible alterations are vast and varied, allowing for creative and impactful changes to the fabric of reality itself:
-
Reshape Terrain: You can change the physical characteristics of the terrain within a 60-foot radius. Raise or lower the ground, create pits, build walls, or form barriers. The changes last for 1 hour.
-
Conjure Objects: You can summon or dismiss objects no larger than a 10-foot cube. These objects can be mundane or magical, but must be items you have seen before. The conjured objects last for 1 hour.
-
Alter Physics: You can temporarily change the physical laws within the area. For example, you can increase or decrease gravity, make water flow uphill, or create pockets of zero gravity. These changes last for 1 minute.
-
Creature Manipulation: You can transform a creature within the area into another creature of equal or lower CR (Challenge Rating). The transformation lasts for 1 hour, or until you lose concentration (as if concentrating on a spell).
-
Temporal Shifts: You can alter the flow of time within the area, causing time to speed up, slow down, or even briefly stop (for up to 6 seconds). The duration of the effect is 1 minute.
-
Reality Overlay: You can create an illusory overlay on the area, changing the appearance of the environment, creatures, and objects. This functions like a Major Image spell, but affects the entire area and lasts for 1 hour.
You can use this feature once per long rest. Using Reality Alteration causes you to gain three levels of Glitch.
Code Manipulation
Upon reaching 14th level, you gain the ability to directly manipulate the code underlying reality. This ability allows you to make profound and permanent changes to the world around you. As an action, you can choose one of the following effects:
-
Attribute Rewrite: Permanently increase or decrease one of a creature's ability scores by up to 4 points. This change can’t reduce an ability score below 1 or raise it above 30.
-
Condition Removal: Remove any condition, curse, or disease affecting a creature, including effects that would normally be irreversible, such as petrification or lycanthropy.
-
Form Alteration: Permanently change a creature’s form. This can function as a True Polymorph spell, allowing you to transform a creature into a different creature or object of similar CR.
-
Reality Stitching: Repair a broken or destroyed object or structure, restoring it to a like-new condition. This can even bring an object back from being completely annihilated, as long as some fragment remains.
-
Existential Rewrite: Change one fundamental aspect of a creature’s existence, such as altering its alignment, race, or class. The target must be willing for this to succeed.
-
Memory Editing: You can rewrite, add, or erase memories from a creature’s mind, functioning similarly to a Modify Memory spell but with no time limit on the memories you can alter.
You can use this feature once per long rest. Using any of these abilities causes you to gain four levels of Glitch.
