Way of the inner storm is a stylistic take on monk with a bunch more survival potential and a tiny bit more oomph just to make playing with no weapons but your good old lefty and righty all the much more fun. So take a step into the ThunderDome and shock some poor fool until they fall over cuz its time to rumble!

Storm Strikes

 

Starting at 3rd level when you pick this subclass your unarmed strikes may be changed from bludgeoning to either Lightning or Thunder damage.

When you declare an unarmed attack and choose to change the damage type to one of those types, you gain an additional effect on your attack, depending on the type chosen:

• Lightning: Choose one additional creature you can see within 30 feet of you. That creature takes lightning damage equal to the lightning damage you dealt with your attack.
• Thunder: Each creature in a 15-foot line originating from the target must make a Dexterity saving throw, against your Ki save DC. On a failed save, a creature is pushed 10 feet away in a straight line, and takes 2d8 thunder damage.

Aura of Storm

 

At the 6th level as an action, you can spend 2 Ki points to cloak yourself in Aura of Storm for 1 minute or until you choose to end it.

• Your unarmed strikes gain an additional 10ft range.
• You unarmed strikes gain an additional 1d8 lightning or thunder damage, increasing to 2d8 at 11th level and 3d8 at 17th level.
• Your speed increases by 10 ft.
• Once per long rest, when you hit another creature with a melee weapon attack, at the cost of 1 ki, you can attempt a paralyzing strike. The target must succeed on a Constitution saving throw or be paralyzed for 1 minute, repeat the save at the end of turn.

Absorb The Storm

 

At 11th level, you gain immunity to thunder and lightning damage. While cloaked in Aura of Storm, when you would have taken Lighting or thunder damage, you may gain temporary hit points equal to the damage you would have taken instead, any temporary hit points gained this way are removed when Aura of Storm ends. You additionally gain immunity to paralysis while Aura of Storm is active.

Perfect Storm

At 17th level, you achieve perfect control over your lightning and thunder abilities.

Lightning Precision

While under the effects of Aura of the storm, you gain advantage on all unarmed attacks while you have temporary hp.

Thunderous Anchor

While under the effects of Aura of Storm, if you reach 0 hp, at the cost of 2 ki points you may immediately as a reaction, choose to remain at 1 hp instead, but reduce your movement speed to 0 until the end of your next turn.
