Warlock
Base Class: Warlock

You have made a pact to the dark woods, and what lurks within. The ancient spirits of the woods, long-dead servants of the Old Gods, revel in the sanctity of their only currency they  respect: The secrets found within the hearts of men, and those they hold dear. They reward their faithful with power, that when used for your goals allows a degree of control over information, death, and shadow.

Raven’s Flock

Starting at 1st level, you gain the service of a small flock of ravens, sent to watch over you. These creatures use the game statistics of a raven, and are friendly to you. They always obey your commands, which you can give telepathically while they are within 1 mile of your location. You may have a number of ravens equal to your Charisma modifier.

While at least one raven is perched on your shoulder, you gain darkvision with a range of 30 feet and a bonus to your passive Wisdom (Perception) score and to Wisdom (Perception) checks equal to your Charisma modifier. If you already had darkvision, the range of it increases by 30 feet. While perched on your shoulder, a raven can’t be targeted by any attack or other harmful effect; only you can cast spells on it; it can’t take damage; and it is incapacitated.

You can see through any of your raven’s eyes and hear what they hear while they are within 100 feet of you.

In combat, you roll initiative for the flock of ravens as a group, and control how they act.

If a raven is slain by a creature, and it is within 1 mile of you when it dies, you can spend your reaction to learn the killer’s name, general emotional state, and a single secret they know (GM’s discretion).

The ravens don't require sleep, and can wake you as a bonus action if they are within 30 feet of you.

The ravens vanish when they die, if you die, or if they are separated from you by more than 5 miles.

At the end of a long rest, you can call your flock back to you—no matter where they are or whether they are dead—and they reappear within 15 feet of you.

Soul of the Raven

At 6th level, you become more closely attuned with your ravens, and begin to take on some of their characteristics. You gain resistance to necrotic damage.

Additionally, you gain the ability to merge with one of your ravens. As a bonus action, when a raven is perched on your shoulder, you can merge your body with that raven’s form. While merged, you become Tiny, you replace your speed(s) with the raven’s, and you can use your action only to Dash, Disengage, Dodge, Help, Hide, or Search. During this time, you gain the bonuses to Wisdom (Perception) checks and to your passive Wisdom (Perception) score, and the increased Darkvision, of your raven being perched on your shoulder. As an action, you and the raven return to normal.

Raven's Shield

At 10th level, your ravens can grant a protective blessing. While you have a raven perched on your shoulder, you gain advantage on death saving throws, immunity to the frightened condition, and gain a number of temporary hit points equal to your Charisma modifier (minimum 1) at the start of your turn.

If a raven perches on the shoulder of an ally within 100 feet of you, they gain the benefits of Raven’s Shield.

Ravenous Flock

Starting at 14th level, you’ve gained mastery over the control of your ravens. Your ravens no longer vanish if they are more than 5 miles from you, and you can telepathically communicate and control your ravens if they are on the same plane as you.

Additionally, when a creature with a soul dies within 100 feet of you, you may spend your reaction to capture its soul, turning it into a raven under your control. This raven acts like all other ravens you control from Raven’s Flock, but knows what it knew when it originally died, and doesn’t count against your maximum number of ravens. As long as this raven exists, the original creature’s soul is not free.

You may have any number of additional ravens from Ravenous Flock, and you may release any number of these ravens from your service as a free action, freeing their souls to travel to the realms beyond.
