Monk
Base Class: Monk

As a Monk carrying a Divine Restriction, you have been completely cut off from the forces of magic in exchange for a heightened level of physical control that borders on supernatural. The presence of your Divine Restriction dampens the strength of magic near you, allowing you to close the gap that magical power can create.

Divine Limiter

Starting when you choose this tradition at 3rd level, you can release the limiters you place upon yourself in order to function in society. As a bonus action, you spend 2 ki points to enter the Divine Limiter state for 1 minute or until you are knocked unconscious. While Divine Limiter is active, you gain the following benefits.

  • Your awareness of your surroundings and control over your body is heightened to superhuman levels. You gain +2 to your armor class and you have Advantage on Dexterity and Strength related saving throws or checks.
  • You gain the benefits of Step of the Wind for the duration.
  • Your awareness of your body allows you to use every part of your bit of muscle to full capacity. You can add your Strength and Dexterity to attack and damage rolls when using unarmed strikes or monk weapons.

Divine Inventory

At 6th level, as part of your Divine Restriction, you are gifted a host of weapons in order to help you compensate for your lack of magical power. These weapons reside in a pocket dimension only you can access. As a bonus action, you can spend 1 ki points to reach your Divine Inventory to pull out one of these weapons. These weapons are considered monk weapons when wielded by you. They remain indefinitely or until they are dropped by you or dismissed by you as a free action. You can only have one of these weapons equipped at a time, and must expend another bonus action and ki point to switch between them.

  • Flying Soul Throwing Stars
    • The Flying Soul Throwing Stars give you the capability to reach enemies from a distance. When throwing these at enemies, you have a +1 bonus to attack and damage rolls.
  • Inverted Spear Of Heaven
    • The Inverted Spear of Heaven is an impressive spear with red fur at the base of the incredibly thin piercing blade. This weapon has the properties of a +2 spear. The Inverted Spear of Heaven ignores physical resistance, and it deals an additional die of damage.
  • Playful Cloud
    • The Playful Cloud is a three sectioned staff with an intimidating red and black flame pattern covering the length of each segment. The weapon has the properties of a + 1 quarterstaff. Playful Cloud has a 10-foot reach. When the wielder successfully hits a creature, the creature must succeed a constitution saving throw or have their vision clouded. While their vision is clouded, a creature will be considered blinded for that turn. They can attempt the save again at the end of their turn.
    • This weapon also comes with a special sweeping attack. The wielder can expend 1 ki point to do a full spin with the staff, striking any enemies within the 10-foot range.

Divine Limiter: Second Seal

At 11th level, you have had to place additional seals upon yourself just to function normally within society. You can spend 2 additional ki points when entering the Divine Limiter state to gain the following benefits.

  • Your unarmed strikes and melee weapon attacks with monk weapons have advantage for the duration.
  • You gain a healing factor. At the beginning of each of your turns, you regain 1d6 + Wisdom hit points.
  • Your Divine Inventory weapons gain an additional +1 to attack and damage rolls.

Sorcerer Killer

By 17th level, your exploits as a powerful combatant who specialized in defeating crazed magic users has earned you the title of Sorcerer Killer. Your Divine Restriction has grown to unbearable heights, forcing you to place an additional seal upon yourself. You can spend 2 additional ki points when entering the Divine Limiter: Second Seal state to gain the following benefits.

  • Your healing factor is ever stronger. At the beginning of each of your turns, you regain 2d6 + Wisdim hit points.
  • Your Divine Inventory weapons gain an additional +1 to attack and damage rolls.
  • You have advantage on saving throws from spells.
