Fighter
Base Class: Fighter

The archetypal Champion focuses on the development of raw physical power honed to deadly perfection. Those who model themselves on this archetype combine rigorous training with physical excellence to deal devastating blows.

In many ways, Champions are hammers. They are versatile and tackle every problem the same way, the simplicity and efficiency of treating everything like a nail allows them to excel in every combat, in every mission, no matter the circumstances. They are often found as soldiers and mercenaries, putting their skills to good use to gain ample amounts of coin.

Peerless Physique

Beginning when you first pick this archetype at 3rd level, you’ve taken your body to the extreme to perform great feats of athleticism. You gain proficiency in either the Acrobatics skill or Athletics skill if you aren’t already, and you can add half your proficiency bonus (rounded up) to any Strength, Dexterity, or Constitution check you make that doesn't already use your proficiency bonus.

In addition, when you make a running long jump, the distance you can cover increases by a number of feet equal to your Strength modifier.

Ferocious Precision

Also at 3rd level, your weapon attacks score a critical hit on a roll of 19 or 20.

Furthermore, whenever you score a critical hit or reduce a creature to 0 hit points, you can move up to half your speed without provoking opportunity attacks.

Remarkable Warrior

At 7th level, you gain the following features:

Improved Peerless Physique. You have advantage on initiative rolls. You also have advantage on ability checks made with the chosen skill at 3rd level (add manually).

Additional Fighting Style. You can choose an additional option from the Fighting Style feature (add manually).

Relentless Determination

Starting at 10th level, you’ve learnt to keep on fighting even at the worst of odds. Whenever you or an allied creature within 60 feet of you is hit by a critical hit, suffers a critical failure on an attack, ability check or saving throw; or an allied creature within 60 feet of you is reduced to 0 hit points, you may harness your driven ferocity to strike (no action required).

The next time you take the Attack action, your speed increases by 10 feet for the turn and you can make one additional attack as part of the Attack action. You can make an additional attack this way only once per Attack action. This attack is made with advantage, and on a critical hit, you have advantage on your next attack.

You can use this feature a number of times equal to your proficiency bonus, regaining all expended uses when you finish a long rest.

Vicious Precision

Beginning at 15th level, your weapon attacks score a critical hit on a roll of 18, 19 and 20 on the d20.

Furthermore, whenever you score a critical hit or reduce a creature to 0 hit points, you gain temporary hit points equal to your fighter level.

Driven Survivor

By the time you’ve reached 18th level, you’ve attained the pinnacle of resilience in battle. You gain the following benefits:

  • You gain proficiency in Dexterity saving throws.
  • Whenever you roll a death saving throw, you treat a roll of 18, 19 or 20 as a 20 on the d20.
  • At the start of each of your turns, you regain hit points equal to 5 + your Constitution modifier if you have no more than half of your hit points left. You don't gain this benefit if you have 0 hit points.
