Base Class: Barbarian
The Path of the Rage Mage draws out a barbarian's wellspring of emotions as a torrent of arcane magic. This magic might be channeled into explosions of evocation magic -- streams of fire and lightning, blasts of wind and thunder -- or into radical transmutation magic, altering the Rage Mage's form with fearsome enhancements. Other practitioners of magic might metaphorically look down on the Rage Mage's brutish and straightforward method of spellcasting... until that same Rage Mage is literally looking down at them, ten feet tall and wreathed in flames.

When you reach 3rd level, you augment your martial prowess with the ability to cast spells.
Cantrips
You learn two cantrips of your choice from the sorcerer spell list. You gain an additional sorcerer cantrip at 10th level.
Spell Slots
The Rage Mage Spellcasting table shows how many spell slots you have to cast your sorcerer spells of 1st level and higher. To cast one of these spells, you must expend a slot of the spell's level or higher. You regain all expended spell slots when you finish a long rest.
For example, if you know the 1st-level spell Earth Tremor and have a 1st-level and a 2nd-level spell slot available, you can cast Earth Tremor using either slot.
Spells Known of 1st Level and Higher
You know three 1st-level sorcerer spells of your choice, two of which you must choose from the evocation and transmutation spells on the sorcerer spell list.
The Spells Known column of the Rage Mage Spellcasting table shows when you learn more sorcerer spells of 1st level or higher. Each of these spells must be an evocation or transmutation spell of your choice, and must be of a level for which you have spell slots. For instance, when you reach 7th level in this class, you can learn one new spell of 1st or 2nd level.
The spells you learn at 8th, 14th, and 20th level can come from any school of magic.
Whenever you gain a level in this class, you can replace one of the sorcerer spells you know with another spell of your choice from the sorcerer spell list. The new spell must be of a level for which you have spell slots, and it must be an evocation or transmutation spell, unless you're replacing the spell you gained at 3rd, 8th, 14th, or 20th level from any school of magic.
Spellcasting Ability
Charisma is your spellcasting ability for your sorcerer spells, since the power of your magic relies on your ability to project your will into the world. You use your Charisma whenever a spell refers to your spellcasting ability. In addition, you use your Charisma modifier when setting the saving throw DC for a sorcerer spell you cast and when making an attack roll with one.
Spell save DC = 8 + your proficiency bonus + your Charisma modifier
Spell attack modifier = your proficiency bonus + your Charisma modifier
Raging Magic
Even in the throes of your bloodlust, you can call forth bursts of rage-enhanced magic. You are able to cast cantrips while raging. If you attempt to cast a cantrip that requires Concentration, the casting fails. When you cast a cantrip that requires a spell attack roll while raging, you gain your Rage Damage as a bonus to a single damage roll of that spell.
Additionally, Reckless Attack now also gives you advantage on spell attack rolls during the turn you attack recklessly.
Finally, whether raging or not, you can perform the somatic components of your spells without having a free hand, as your spells' effects erupt from your mouth, your eyes, your magic aura, or another appropriate point on your person.
Spellrage
At 6th level, as part of the Bonus Action to enter your rage, you can cast a single spell of 1st-level or higher with a range of Self or Touch and a listed casting time of 1 Action or 1 Bonus Action. If the spell has a range of Touch and targets one or more creatures, this casting of the spell can only target you. If the spell requires Concentration as part of its duration, you can maintain Concentration on this spell while raging until the spell ends, until your rage ends, or until Concentration is broken, whichever comes first. If you would fail a saving throw to maintain Concentration on this spell, you may expend a spell slot of the same level used to cast the spell or higher, and instead succeed on that saving throw.
Intuitive Magical Understanding
While you may lack the formal training and extensive vocabulary of more learned spellcasters, your instinctive sense of how to utilize magic has granted you a comparable understanding of how magic works and its connection to the world. At 10th level, you gain proficiency in the Arcana skill, and you add a bonus to any Intelligence (Arcana) check equal to your Charisma modifier.
Expanded Spellrage
At 14th level, your berserker fury and arcane prowess enhance each other even further. When choosing a spell to cast as part of your Spellrage feature, you may choose any spell you know and have the spell slots available to cast with a casting time of 1 action or 1 bonus action. If that spell normally targets one or more creatures, it can still only target you for that casting.
Beginning at 14th level, you can roll one additional damage die when determining the extra damage for a critical hit with a spell attack. This increases to two additional dice at 18th level.
