You focus your training on the grim art of death. Those who adhere to this variant of the Assassin often slink through the shadows out of sight,
and wait for the perfect moment when their opponent is easy to access and strikes, As opposed to the traditional assassin who primarily hides in plain sight.
Assassin (Variant) Features
3rd Level:Assassinate, Verticality, Hidden Blade
9th Level:Blade in the Crowd
13th Level:Deaths Door Interrogation
17th Level: Hidden Blade Specialization
Hidden Blade
Starting at 3rd level, You are able to spend an hour and 40 gold pieces to transform a dagger into a Hidden Blade,
This Hidden Blade is undetectable in searches, such as if you are going through a security checkpoint where weaponry is traditionally prohibited.
aswell as it can be used while both your hands are preoccupied, such as if you are climbing a ledge and must take out a enemy.
At 17th level you gain the ability to specialize your hidden blade with one of the 3 options.
The Hidden Blade shares the same stats as a standard dagger however cannot be thrown.
You also gain expertise with your Hidden Blade, Doubling your proficiency bonus on D20 rolls to hit.
Assassinate
Starting at 3rd level, you are at your deadliest when you get the drop on your enemies. You have advantage on attack rolls against any creature that hasn’t taken a turn in the combat yet. In addition, any hit you score against a creature that is surprised is a critical hit.
Verticality
Starting at 3rd level, You gain a climbing speed equal to a third of your walking speed rounded down.
In urban enviroments your climbing speed equals 2 thirds of your walking speed rounded down.
Hidden Blade Specialization
Starting at 9th level you gain the ability to specialize your hidden blade
in one of the 3 available options below by spending an additional 80 gold pieces and 2 hours, You may only have one specialization.
Dual Hiddenblades
You can give yourself an additional hidden blade on your second hand thus allowing you to dualwield them in combat should you need to,
Your assassinate feature applies to both blades however still abides to dual wielding rules.
Hidden Crossbow
You can give your hidden blade the functionality of a Light Crossbow, while still keeping all the original benefits of a hidden blade.\
If gained and applied, Give your character a light crossbow.
Hookblade
You can give your hidden blade a hook, The climbing speed you gain from the verticality feature is increased by 50% rounded down,
And you gain the ability to trip your enemy if you attack them with your hidden blade, They must make a DC 14 Dexterity Saving throw or be made prone.
Blade in the Crowd
Starting at 9th level you gain advantage in (Dexterity) Stealth checks when trying to dissapear into a crowd, or stay hidden within a crowd,
Aswell you have advantage in (Dexterity) Sleight Of Hand checks when trying to make an attack action against someone in a crowd using the Hidden Blade without being spotted.
Deaths Door Interrogation
Starting at 13th level, Once per long rest, when you use your Assassinate feature you may ask your target a question,
They are required to answer and they must answer as truthfully as they can to their knowledge.
Death Strike
Starting at 17th level, you become a master of instant death. When you attack and hit a creature that is surprised, it must make a Constitution saving throw (DC 8 + your Dexterity modifier + your proficiency bonus). On a failed save, double the damage of your attack against the creature.
