Base Class: Bard
The College of Imagination represents a place to learn for those trapped inside their own mind, not being able to unleash their creativity into the world. Step by step students learn to open up their ideas to the world to steadily increasing effects. The only limit is your own creativity.
Portrayal of Ideas
3rd-level College of Imagination feature
The first lesson of imagination is to have an idea and be able to show that to the world:
When you join the College of Imagination at 3rd level, you learn the minor illusion cantrip. If you already know this cantrip, you learn a different bard cantrip of your choice. The cantrip doesn’t count against your number of cantrips known.
When you cast minor illusion, you can create both a sound and an image with a single casting of the spell.
Manifestation of Creativity
3rd-level College of Imagination feature
The second lesson of imagination is to make an impact with your thoughts and act to resolve your intent:
As an action, you can create one nonmagical item of your choice in an unoccupied space within 10 feet of you. The item must appear on a surface or in a liquid that can support it. The gp value of the item can’t be more than 20 times your bard level, and the item must be Medium or smaller. The created item disappears after a number of hours equal to your proficiency bonus. For examples of items you can create, see the equipment chapter of the Player’s Handbook.
Once you create an item with this feature, you can’t do so again until you finish a long rest, unless you expend a spell slot of 2nd level or higher to use this feature again. You can have only one item created by this feature at a time; if you use this action and already have an item from this feature, the first one immediately vanishes.
The size of the item you can create with this feature increases by one size category when you reach 6th level (Large) and 14th level (Huge).
Influence of Impression
3rd-level College of Imagination feature
The third lesson of imagination is to spread your ideas with everyone on your travels through the world, granting you certain benefits:
- When entering a new city or town, you seem to always know where masses of people gather to be impressed and know the location of at least one tavern or similar building or if not available, the largest plaza or park.
- While staying in a city or town, you can maintain a comfortable lifestyle for yourself and a number of other creatures of your choice equal to your charisma modifier without paying the daily gold cost. This improves to a wealthy lifestyle at 6th level and aristocratic lifestyle at 14th level.
- When leaving the same city or town, you can leave a message, short sentence or concept that the people you interacted with will try to adapt to in a small way. At 6th level the influence of your imagination extends to the actions of people and at 14th level it can be seen as a guidance for a lifestyle.
Value of Myth
6th-level College of Imagination feature
The fourth lesson of imagination is to mold your surroundings to deceive from circumstance:
You are able to cast the silent image spell at will without requiring somatic, verbal or material components. You can move the image as a bonus action instead of an action, it does not require concentration, however you can only create one image at a time.
Additionally when a creature uses your inspiration die to increase their attack roll, saving throw or skill check, it is made at advantage.
Epics of Eternity
14th-level College of Imagination feature
The fifth and final lesson of imagination is to not be confined to the rules of nature and manipulate at your own behest:
When you use your Manifestation of Creativity feature, you can create more than one item at once. The number of items equals your Charisma modifier (minimum of two items). If you create an item that would exceed that number, you choose which of the previously created items disappears. Only one of these items can be of the maximum size you can create; the rest must be Small or Tiny.
You are no longer limited by gp value when creating items with Performance of Creation.
Additionally once per long rest you can cast the major image spell at 3rd level, without expending a spell slot.
