Fighter
Base Class: Fighter

The term Baghatur is used to describe a Mongol warrior who has achieved honorary status through combat. You have spent your time learning to become one, and have learned to slowly perfect the art of mounted combat.

Mounted Nomad

At 3rd level when you select this archetype, you learn to conjure a steed that you may mount and fight with. You learn to cast Find Steed once per long rest.

At 7th level, you may cast this spell twice, three times at 11th level, and four times at 18th level.

Mounted Combat Expertise

At 3rd Level, you learn how to fight more efficiently while mounted. You gain the following benefits provided you are not wearing heavy armor:

Mounted Archery Proficiency: When making a ranged attack roll while mounted, you do not receive disadvantage if the target is within 5 feet of you. Additionally, when attacking regularly with a ranged attack roll, you gain a +2 to the attack roll while mounted.

- Charge: If your mount moves more than 10 feet in a straight line while you are mounted on it, the first melee attack against a creature deals an additional 1d6 damage for every 5 feet your mount moved, to a maximum of 4d6. Subtract the original 10 feet when calculating the extra damage.

Ruthless Presence

At 7th Level, just the sound of your steed strikes fear into your foes. When rolling initiative, each creature that sees you must make a Wisdom Saving Throw (DC 8 + Prof. Bonus + CHA) or become frightened of you for one round. Additionally, you gain proficiency in Intimidation. If you already had proficiency in Intimidation, you instead gain Expertise.

Redirection

At 10th Level, you learn ways to effectively protect both you and your steed. When an attacker targets your mount with a melee attack, you may use your reaction to redirect the attack towards you. The attacker must make a new attack roll with disadvantage.

Khar Ayanga

At 15th Level, you and your steed emulate the sound of thunder when you fight. Not only that, but your mounted combat skills increase again. You gain the following benefits:

Breakneck: The extra damage you can deal by charging's cap increases to a maximum of 6d6.

Frightful Presence: As a bonus action on your turn, you may let a war cry out, and any hostile creature that can hear you must make a DC 15 Wisdom Saving Throw or become frightened of you for one minute. You can use this feature a number of times equal to your proficiency bonus, and you regain all expended uses on a Long Rest.

The Great Khan

At 18th Level, you have mastered the art of mounted combat. Your prowess as both a leader and as a warrior have earned you the title of Khan. You gain the following benefits:

Composite Mastery: When making a ranged attack while mounted, instead of gaining a +2 to the attack roll, you instead gain 4 "points". You may divide these points among bonuses to the attack and damage rolls of the weapon. For instance, you may choose to gain a +3 to the attack roll and a +1 to the damage roll, or a +2 to both rolls.

Mounted Maneuvering: When your mount takes the dash action, they do not provoke opportunity attacks. Additionally, the extra damage that you may deal with your Charge ability now has a maximum of 8d6.

Debilitating Strike: When a target suffers bonus damage from your Charge ability, they cannot take reactions until the start of their next turn, and their movement speed is reduced by 10. Alternatively, when fighting a creature that can use Legendary Actions, you may instead choose to reduce the amount of Legendary Actions that creature can take this round of combat by 1.
