Base Class: Bard
When one's talents pass the threshold of mortal admirers, the dead raise from their respected resting place to show their appreciation. Bards from the College of the Mourner learn to perform for an audience who lost their vivacity long ago. Common folk ususally hire them on the anniversary days which their loved ones passed away, to hear their voices once again. Although the service they provide is of a noble one, the effects that weigh upon the bard are those that no other being can even attempt to imagine. The melody they chant slowly drags them to an endless pit of despair. The ever-ending voices from the underworld they have to listen to everyday, night after night, drives them to the edge of madness. Time they spend with ghosts and the undead alters their very essence from the core. If you are still not scared, COME! Join the College of the Mourner! The dead awaits for your wicked tunes to begin their never stopping waltz.
For Whom the Bell Tolls
When taking this archetype at 3rd level, you gain proficiency in Religion skill. Your proficiency bonus is doubled for any ability check you make that uses this skill.
Additionally, you learn the "Toll the Dead" cantrip. It counts as a Bard cantrip for you, but it doesn't count against your number of cantrips known.
Dirge For The Living
Beginning at 3rd level, you learn an additional way to give Bardic Inspiration. Whenever an ally you can see within 60 feet of you drops to 0 hitpoints, you can immediately use your reaction to give a Bardic Inspiration die to a creature within 60 feet of you. You can use this feature to give Bardic Inspiration die to an unconcious creature.
Whenever a creature that has a Bardic Inspiration die from you makes a death saving throw, it regains 1 hit point on a roll of 19 or 20 on a d20. Also if a creature chooses to add your Bardic Inspiration die to a death saving throw, it adds the highest number possible for the die.
Call to the Grave
Beginning at 6th level, you learn the "Speak with Dead" spell if you didn't already. If you did, you can learn another spell from the Bard spell list. This spell doesn't count against your number of spells known.
Also you gain the ability to use your Bardic Inspiration to enhance your connection with the deceased. Whenever you cast the "Speak with Dead" spell. You can choose to expend three uses of your Bardic Inspiration, instead of expending a spell slot.
One with the Dead
Also starting at 6th level, you can't be possessed and creatures with Incorporeal Movement ability can't pass through the space that you occupy.
Additionally, you can no longer become frightened.
Underworldly Talent
At 14th level, time you have spent with the residents of the underworld changed your own mortal essence. You have resistance to necrotic damage.
Also, your musical talents become potent enough to beguile even the undead. As an action, you can choose one undead with a CR as high as your bard level halved(rounded down) that you can see within 60 feet of you. That creature must make a Charisma saving throw against your bard spell save DC. If it succeeds, you can't use this feature on it again. If it fails, it becomes friendly to you and obeys your commands until you use this feature again. Intelligent undead are harder to control in this way. If the target has an Intelligence of 8 or higher, it has advantage on the saving throw. If it fails the saving throw and has an Intelligence of 12 or higher, it can repeat the saving throw at the end of every hour until it succeeds and breaks free.
Additional Spells
"Animate Dead" and "Danse Macabre" spells are added to Bard spell list for you.
