Base Class: Rogue
The Spymaster is a expert of espionage, skilled in the arts of deception, infiltration, and manipulation. Trained to gather information and influence outcomes from the shadows, Spymasters excel at navigating social situations and turning even the most secure environments to their advantage. Whether serving as an elite agent for a kingdom or a free agent working for personal gain, a Spymaster's true power lies in their ability to gather secrets and shape the world around them.
Glib-Tongued
You gain proficiency with disguise kits.
When a creature would attempt to read your thoughts or magically compel you to speak the truth, you may use a reaction to trick even your own mind into a false reality. When you do this, you may make a deception check against the caster's spell save DC. On a successful check, a creature cannot read your thoughts, and if an effect would compel you to speak the truth, you may lie. The targeting creature does not know you are doing so.
In addition, you gain a bonus to your Charisma (Deception and Persuasion) checks equal to half of your Rogue level (Rounded Down).
Backstabber
At 3rd level, an attack roll of a 19 or a 20 is considered a critical hit when attacking with advantage due to being hidden from an enemy.
Additionally, when you successfully disguise yourself and an enemy fails to see through your disguise, you are considered hidden from them, even if they can see you.*
*Your DM may rule that convincing an enemy that you are their ally would be considered a successful disguise for the sake of this ability.
Master Infiltrator
Starting at 9th level, you may cast Invisibility an amount of times equal to your proficiency bonus per short rest, and Disguise Self at will, without expending a spell slot or material components.
Additionally, when under the effect of Disguise Self or invisibility, even creatures with Truesight will be unable to see through your illusory cover, and Detect Magic will not reveal these effects as Illusion magic to the caster.
Silent Takedown
By 13th level, you have learned how to sneak up on unsuspecting enemies and subdue them without resistance. You may make a melee attack against a creature that is either unwitting or cannot see you. If the attack hits, the creature must make a Constitution saving throw (DC of 8 + your Dexerity Modifier + your Proficiency bonus) or fall unconscious. This action doesn't generate any significant amount of audio or visual disturbance. If another creature is within 20 ft of you when you use this ability, it must succeed a contested perception check against your stealth check to notice.
Dead Ringer
At 17th level, you have mastered the art of faking your own death. When you take damage, you may use a reaction to instead negate this damage, conjure a fake corpse of yourself in the same space as you and become invisible, as though under the effects of the invisibility spell. The corpse has the same physical appearance, clothes, and equipment as you, and remains for 1 hour, after which it and all its equipment will crumble into ash. Every creature who witnesses this believes you are dead.
You may use this ability once per long rest.
