Druid
Base Class: Druid

Druids of the Circle of the Hunter are the vigilant guardians of the wild, embodying the primal instincts of nature’s fiercest predators. These druids form a deep, almost mystical bond with the beasts of the land, learning their ways, harnessing their strengths, and adopting their survival tactics. They are the silent stalkers, moving through the wilderness with the grace and stealth of a panther. Their senses are finely tuned to the rhythms of the natural world, allowing them to detect even the slightest disturbances.

These druids are the unseen protectors, always watching over their territory and the creatures that inhabit it. They understand the delicate balance of the ecosystem and are relentless in their pursuit of those who threaten it. Whether it’s poachers, defilers, or unnatural forces, the Circle of the Hunter Druids will stop at nothing to restore harmony. They strike with the precision of a hawk diving for its prey, and their presence alone can instill fear in the hearts of those who would harm the wild.

Their connection with nature goes beyond mere companionship; it is a symbiotic relationship where both druid and beast benefit. They often travel with loyal animal companions, each one a testament to their deep understanding and respect for the natural world. These druids can call upon the strength of a bear, the speed of a cheetah, or the cunning of a fox, adapting their abilities to suit the needs of the moment. In times of peace, they nurture and heal, but in times of conflict, they become the embodiment of nature’s wrath.

Predatory Recovery

Starting at 2nd level, you can regain some of your magical energy by sitting in meditation and communing with nature. During a short rest, you choose expended spell slots to recover. The spell slots can have a combined level that is equal to or less than half your druid level (rounded up), and none of the slots can be 10th level or higher. You can’t use this feature again until you finish a long rest.

For example, when you are a 4th-level druid, you can recover up to two levels worth of spell slots. You can recover either a 2nd-level slot or two 1st-level slots.

Predatory Form

You can expend a use of your Wildshape Feature to become any predatory creature with a CR equal to your total level you have seen. This does not follow the rule of having to be a "Beast," but it cannot be a humanoid form either.

Hunter's Armor

Starting at 3rd level, your deep connection with nature grants you a protective aura, enhancing your defenses. While you are wearing leather or wooden armor, your AC increases by +2. This natural armor reflects the resilience and adaptability of the wild, allowing you to move freely and remain protected in the heat of battle.

Hunter's Focus

When you reach 10th level, you can’t be charmed or frightened by elementals or fey, and you are immune to poison and disease.

Nature’s Trickery

When you reach 14th level, creatures of the natural world sense your connection to nature and become hesitant to attack you. When a beast or plant creature attacks you, that creature must make a Wisdom saving throw against your druid spell save DC. On a failed save, the creature must choose a different target, or the attack automatically misses. On a successful save, the creature is immune to this effect for 24 hours.

The creature is aware of this effect before it makes its attack against you.
