Warlock
Base Class: Warlock

One of Faerûn’s most powerful guilds has need of warlocks whose loyalties are not divided between their employer and their patron, and has constructed an enormous magical Battery to power their own cohort of eldritch emissaries. You are one such warlock, and have been entrusted with access to a fraction of the Battery’s vast power that you may better advance the Guild’s interests. Neither demon, nor fey, nor Great Old One holds your soul in their palm - rather it is to the Guildmasters, and the Guildmasters alone, that you must answer.

Expanded Spell List

The Guild lets you choose from an expanded list of spells when you learn a warlock spell.

1st level: Ceremony, Find Familiar

2nd level: Arcane Lock, Continual Flame, Magic Mouth, Summon Beast

3rd level: Glyph of Warding, Nondetection, Revivify

4th level: Divination, Stoneskin

5th level: Legend Lore, Greater Restoration, Raise Dead

(Note: D&D Beyond does not allow the spells Ceremony and Summon Beast to be officially included in homebrew content, so if you are using an online character sheet you may need to add them by other means.)

New Logo

At 1st level, the Guild bestows upon you a signet ring (25 gp value) bearing the Guildmaster’s official seal. While you wear this ring, you can use it as a spell focus for your warlock spells, and once during each of your turns when you hit with an attack roll you can deal extra force damage to the target equal to your proficiency bonus. While you wear the ring, it painlessly bonds to your flesh and cannot be removed unless you use an action to release it.

If the ring is destroyed or lost, you can obtain a new one by visiting a Guild premises and spending 1d4 hours beseeching the bureacrats therein. Once you receive a new ring, if your old ring still exists it loses its magical properties.

Remote Work

The Guild’s artificers have upgraded your connection to the Eldritch Battery. Starting from 6th level, when you or an ally cast a spell that would normally consume a costed material component, you may expend additional warlock spell slots to remotely consume these materials from the Guild’s considerable stockpiles. When used in this way, each warlock spell slot can consume up to 50 gp of materials per level. For example, one 5th level spell slot can consume 250 gp of materials, or two 1st level spell slots can consume 100 gp of materials. Each time you use a warlock spell slot in place of material components, you cannot do so again with that spell slot until you complete a long rest.

When you use this ability to assist an ally in casting a spell, you must remain within touch range of that ally and use the Help action on them every turn for the entire time it takes to cast the spell, otherwise the spell fails and you immediately expend one warlock spell slot, counting this as a use of this feature for that spell slot.

Return to the Office

At 10th level you learn the spell Teleportation Circle. It counts as a warlock spell for you, but it doesn’t count against the spells you know, and you can cast it without expending material components. One of the two Sigil Sequences you acquire upon learning this spell is that of your Guild’s headquarters or nearest major premises, and you may cast this spell as a ritual when teleporting there.

Limited Offer

At 10th level, you gain the ability to cast the spells Awaken, Hallow and Reincarnate without expending a spell slot. Once you successfully cast one of these spells in this way, you can never cast that spell again through this feature.

Agile Strategy

At 14th level, when you spend one hour communicating with your Guild (either by meditating on your connection to the Battery or by speaking with a Guild official) you can choose one of the warlock spells you know and request to replace it with another warlock spell of 5th level or lower, or request to swap one of your Mystic Arcanum spells for another warlock spell of equal level. Once you make your request, roll 1d6 to determine how many long rests you must complete before the change of spells comes into effect.

As an action, you may cancel your requested swap at any time before the change comes into effect. Your request is cancelled automatically if you remove the outgoing spell through other means, such as by swapping for another spell when you gain a warlock level, or if you use this feature make a new request before the old one is completed.
