Paladin
Base Class: Paladin

The Red Knight is the spiritual manifestation of a warrior's desire for war and battle. Red like the blood spilt by soldiers, fighting freely or pressed into service against their will.

The Oath of the Red Knight is combat for combat's sake - the psyche and madness of war made manifest in a soul scarred by sorrow and fury.

Tenets of the Red Knight

Taken in sorrow and fury, these tenets bind a a Paladin to the horrors of war, an eternal companion to lessen the burdens of loss.

The Blood Must Flow. Peace is not an option for our wounded souls. Only blood can sate our sorrowful fury.

The Beast Within. Ours is a fury to be left unchecked, freed upon our enemies. Deny not this desire.

Channel Divinity

You gain the following Channel Divinity options. See the Sacred Oath class feature for how Channel Divinity works.

Berserker's Sorrow. As a bonus action, you can expend a use of your Channel Divinity to flood your body with fury, pushing yourself beyond natural limits. For the next minute, when you take the Attack action, you can make one additional attack as part of that action. As well, whenever you take damage while this Channel Divinity is active, you take an extra 1d4 damage of that type. You can end this feature early as a bonus action.

Butcher. When you reduce a creature to 0 hit points, you can use your reaction to expend a use of your Channel Divinity to butcher it, reducing it to gory chunks and killing it instantly. When you do, you regain a number of hit points equal to four times the creature's Challenge Rating (or its level, if it lacks a Challenge Rating). As part of this same reaction, you can also regain hit points through the use of your Lay on Hands feature, expending hit points from this pool as normal.

Aura of Fury

At 7th level, you radiate a permeable aura that drives your allies to revel in fury.

When you and any allies within 10 ft. of you take damage, they have advantage on the first attack roll they make against the creature that harmed them.

The range of this aura increases to 30 ft. at 18th level.

Boiling Blood

At 15th level, your blood boils at the thought of people harming you.

During battle, you are consumed by a hot rage, allowing you to shrug off injuries dealt by your enemies. When you deal damage to a creature, you can use your reaction to gain resistance to all damage that creature deals to you until the start of your next turn.

You can use this feature a number of times equal to your proficiency bonus, and regain any expended uses when you finish a long rest.

The Ripper

At 20th level, you are fully consumed by choler, you can unleash every single drop of wrath within you.

As a bonus action, you can gain the following benefits for 1 minute:

  • Your movement speed increases by 30 ft., and your weapon attacks deal an additional 1d8 damage.
  • When you take damage from a creature, you can use your reaction to move up to twice your movement speed toward that creature and make two weapon attacks against it.

Once you use this bonus action, you cannot use it again until you finish a long rest, unless you expend a 5th level spell slot to use it again.
