Barbarian
Base Class: Barbarian

The Path of Power barbarian achieves their ends by whatever means necessary. They seek power for the sake of power itself and will often use whomever they need to to achieve it.

Power Seeker

The will to succeed is the first step on the path to power.

At 3rd level you gain your choice of fighting style, from either: Defense, Dueling, Great Weapon Fighting, Thrown Weapon Fighting, or Two-Weapon Fighting

Control is Power

We all know power derives from the exertion of will over others and the world.

At 3rd level if you have proficiency with either deception, insight, intimidation, or persuasion, you gain expertise in it. If you have proficiency in none of these, you gain proficiency in one of your choice. Additionally, while raging you have advantage on Wisdom saving throws.

Knowledge is Power

Power comes from knowing what we know and what we dont.

At 6th level, when you strike a creature with a melee attack on your turn you may roll an insight check as a free action to assess their reaction to your attack, with a DC of 16. On a success you learn their intelligence ability score, and if this is lower than your own intelligence score you gain advantage on all subsequent attacks against them. If you fail the insight check, you may not use this feature again until your next turn.

Presence is Power

Power comes to those who are able to claim it.

At 10th level, creatures which are adjacent to you must succeed on an Wisdom saving throw (DC = 8 + your proficiency modifier) before they can leave your reach. On a failure, they must remain within range of your melee attack, on a success, they are immune to this effect for 24 hours.

People are Power

Power comes not from a struggle alone, but from those who choose to let you have it, and from those with whom you strive to achieve it.

At 14th level, when an ally within 30 feet of you takes damage that would reduce them to zero hit points you may use your reaction to move into their space and take the damage for them. This movement does not provoke opportunity attacks. Doing so gives both you and your ally advantage on the next attack or saving throw attempted. You can do this a number of times per long rest equal to your constitution modifier.

Additionally, when initiative is rolled, allies within 10 feet of you cannot roll lower than your initiative.
