Base Class: Bard
Skald of Fury are poets, historians, and keepers of lore who use their gifts for oration and song to inspire allies into an inspired rage. They balance a violent spirit with the veneer of civilization, recording events such as heroic battles and the deeds of great leaders, enhancing these stories in the retelling to earn bloodier victories in combat.
Bonus Proficiencies
As a Skald of Fury at 3rd level, you gain proficiency with medium armor, shields, and martial weapons.
Inspired Rage
Also at 3rd level, you learn to inspire fury into others in battle. A creature with a Bardic Inspiration die from you can instead roll a 1d4 minus 2 as a bonus action, to gain that number in rounds to rage (minimum 1 round). You may use this ability on yourself by expending a Bardic Inspiration as a bonus action.
While raging, you gain one of the following benefits if you aren’t wearing heavy armor:
- You have advantage on Strength checks and Strength saving throws.
- When you make a melee weapon attack you gain a +2 bonus damage roll. This bonus increases to +3 at 9th level, and +4 at 16th level
- You have resistance to bludgeoning, piercing, or slashing damage (choose one).
Any creature affected by the ability if they are able to cast spells, can’t cast them or concentrate on them while raging. The rage ends early if knocked unconscious or ended on their turn as a bonus action.
The rounds of rage increase when you reach certain levels in this class, increasing to 1d4 minus 1 at 5th level, 1d4 plus 1 at 10th level, and 1d4 plus 3 at 15th level.
Extra Reckless Attack
Starting at 6th level, you can attack twice, instead of once, whenever you take the Attack action on your turn. However, when you make your second attack on your turn, you attack recklessly. Doing so gives you advantage on that one melee weapon attack roll against your target, but the first melee attack roll against you has advantage.
Master Skald
At 14th level, you have mastered to channel anger into art. While affected by your Inspired Rage ability you may cast spells normally. You may also choose two options when affected by your Inspired Rage ability. You may select the resistance ability more than once if you choose to.
