Base Class: Rogue
You have chosen to become an Owlbear trainer, training your companion to be strong, ruthless and efficient like you.
Owlbear Cub Companion
You have taken an Owlbear Cub under your wing to train it to be a ruthless combatant like you. Your Owlbear Cub has the following stats:
AC 14 + PB Natural Armor
HP 5 + five times your Rogue Level (Hit dice are a number of d10s equal to your Rogue Level)
STR 14 DEX 13 CON 16 INT 3 WIS 12 CHA 10
Saving Throws: STR 2+PB DEX 1+PB
Skills: Survival +4, Perception +4
Senses: Darkvision 120', Passive Perception 14
Challenge Rating PB
The Cub has 2 attacks it can choose from, a Beak attack or a Claw attack:
Beak: +2+PB to hit, 5 foot reach, 1d4 + 2 Piercing Damage on a hit.
Claws: +2+PB to hit, 5 foot reach, 1d6 + 2 Slashing Damage on a hit.
The Owlbear Cub's Size is Small
PB means Proficiency Bonus.
Should your Owlbear Cub ever die, you must make a plea to the gods (the GM) to either have your Owlbear Cub returned to you, or to be given a replacement.
Rogue Training
During its turn, your Owlbear Cub Companion can apply your Sneak Attack Damage to its Beak or Claws attack as if they were Finesse weapons. If it does so, you may not use Sneak Attack on your attack, and the Cub must still adhere to all other Sneak Attack restrictions.
Additionally, the Owlbear Cub may also use it's Bonus Action to take the Dash, Disengage or Hide action as if it had Cunning Action.
Nimble Cub
At level 9, your Owlbear Cub has been following your movements during battle and has learned to imitate them. It now has the same benefits as your Uncanny Dodge and Evasion Abilities.
Aggressive Cub
At 13th level, your Owlbear Cub has begun to attack more aggressively. It now has Multi-Attack, making 1 attack with its Beak, and 1 attack with its Claws. It can only apply Sneak Attack to one of these attacks if it uses Sneak Attack.
Additionally, its Beak attack now deals 1d6 Damage, and its Claws attack now deals 1d8 damage.
Bonded Hunters
You and your Owlbear Cub Companion have developed a strong bond, giving you the following benefits:
Larger Form: Your Owlbear Cub is now Medium Size, showing how it has grown in it's adventures with you.
Paired Attacks: You and the Owlbear Cub have Advantage on attack rolls against enemies that you are both in combat with.
Reflexive Defence: If an enemy that is engaged with both you and your Owlbear Cub Companion hits either of you with an attack, the other may use it's reaction to attack that enemy.

Posted Aug 21, 2024One thing I forgot to include was giving the Owlbear Cub the ability to follow instructions that you gave it in the level 3 ability. It will follow any instructions you give it, and will default to attacking things that are hostile to you if you don't give it any orders. You can give it orders as a free action on your turn.
