Barbarian
Base Class: Barbarian

The Shielder subclass

Shield Wall

Starting at 3rd level, when you enter a rage, you can choose to form a protective barrier with your shield, granting you and your allies enhanced defense. When you take the Attack action while raging, you can forgo one of your attacks to activate Shield Wall. When Shield Wall is active:

  • You gain a +2 bonus to your AC until the start of your next turn.
  • Allies within 10 feet of you gain a +1 bonus to their AC until the start of your next turn.

Defensive Stance

Starting at 6th level, your ability to protect those around you improves. While raging and holding a shield, you can use your reaction to impose disadvantage on an attack roll made against an ally within 5 feet of you. Additionally, when you use this feature, you can move up to half your movement speed without provoking opportunity attacks, allowing you to better position yourself to defend your allies.

Unyielding Protector

When an attack hits an ally within 10 feet of you, you can use your reaction to reduce the damage they take by an amount equal to your Barbarian level + your Constitution modifier.
If you successfully reduce the damage to 0, you can make one melee weapon attack against the attacker as part of the same reaction.

Bulwark of Fury

Here’s a level 14 ability for your Shielder Barbarian subclass:

Bulwark of Fury

Starting at 14th level, your shield becomes an unbreakable fortress on the battlefield. While raging and holding a shield, you can use an action to activate Bulwark of Fury. When you do so, you gain the following benefits for 1 minute:

  • You and allies within 10 feet of you have resistance to all damage except psychic damage.
  • Your movement speed is reduced by 10 feet, but you cannot be moved against your will by any means.
  • You can use a bonus action on your turn to shove a creature within 5 feet of you (no attack roll required). The creature must succeed on a Strength saving throw (DC equal to 8 + your proficiency bonus + your Strength modifier) or be knocked prone.

Once you use this feature, you can't use it again until you finish a long rest.

Shield Bash

Starting at 3rd level, you can use your shield as a powerful weapon. When you take the Attack action while raging and holding a shield, you can use a bonus action to make a melee weapon attack with your shield. If the attack hits, it deals bludgeoning damage equal to 1d6 + your Strength modifier, and the target must succeed on a Strength saving throw (DC equal to 8 + your proficiency bonus + your Strength modifier) or be knocked prone.
